Everything was absolutely dreamy. We chose Belmar to start our honeymoon off and we couldn’t have picked better. We loved our Peninsula Superior room with an amazing bathtub with a view. The food was glorious. We loved the “garden to plate” concept. We did a beer tasting at the brewery and it was great, too. My husband was so happy! The hotel staff was incredibly polite and helpful; they helped us book a wonderful excursion to the cloud forest with a picnic breakfast up in the canopy as well as a guided tour. Our guide, Daniel, was very knowledgable and had a great sense of humour. I also particularly loved the organic cosmetics provided for us (the vanilla, lavender and pepper shower gel was seriously to die for) as well as lots of amazing beverages from the room fridge including organic iced teas, kombucha and pale ale. There was no air con in the room which I loved as it tends to make me ill usually — the temperature at night was between 16-18 degrees and we slept with open windows, listening to the jungle sounds. Can you think of anything better?!

Hotel is like a big green tropical garden, with lots of flowers , animals, birds , a wild slot ( who shows up regularly ) , rooms are cosy and bed and pillows were high quality . Staff is highly professional , breakfast is good and receptionist helped us organising trips and helped us choosing the right trip for our interrests. Reception also gave us precious help and solved a major problem where spanish speaking was needed. We highly recommend this place .

First a foremost, it is the most magical cloud forest...

First a foremost, it is the most magical cloud forest environment and I sure hope they can save it for future generations. Just take the time to walk peacefully and quietly and you will be in awe of nature and all its wonders. We will be returning. If you can just stay at the lodge, if you do you get a fine room - you are already in the reserve and get three meals a day. You get your entrance fee everyday you stay and can stay a little longer at night. Dont' miss the Hummingbird Garden. Great bird watching guides and night guides.
