We got upgraded to a very nice room. Very spacious and perfect location. There was an error on my invoice that I only realized when I got home. I contacted the hotel and they credited me for the overcharge immediately. Great service. This will be our go-to hotel if we need to stay in the center of Munich.

The hotel is in the center. The personnel is wonderful. They help you with everything, they do much more than they have to. You can go down and drink the tea and eat the fruits whenever you want, sometimes there are the cakes also. The hotel is clean and the wifi is perfect even in the room. I will always stay only in this hotel.

This was a terrible experience.

This was a terrible experience. We flew thousands of miles to get to Munich, and its beautiful architecture and culture. We arranged our trip around the most important sight seeings in the city and arrived at the Marienplatz at 4.30pm for the famous glockenspiel at 5pm. There was a stage right in front of the Glockenturm with a drag show. The beautiful building was covered in rainbow flags, not allowing for pictures of the beautiful architecture. Tons of obscene drag clothing, make up and inappropriate body gear and piercings. Boo to you Munich, for not giving us a choice of exposing our kids to this on a Sunday afternoon in a market square surrounded by churches! Boo to you Munich for not even granting a 10 minute break to that nonsense, so we could actually hear the bells! The show’s moderator even made comments over not having time for the glockenspiel, because their show was on a schedule. Huh? We tourists were on a schedule too and traveled here to see what the city once was known for. Not this madness!

This was a lovely spot especially for watching the clock...

This was a lovely spot especially for watching the clock tower but is very crowded during the day but is especially lovely at night. Walks to all the historical spots is easy from here and there are plenty of places to eat and the Ratskeller has an atmosphere all of its own. The shops are luxury items but the local market is great.

It is very beautiful with all the churches and old buildings. We spent a lot of time there. The clock with the movement of figures only goes off at 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm. People fill in quickly, so go early. We planned a lunch and sat at the outdoor cafe.

Love watching the beautiful tower.

Love watching the beautiful tower. The Christmas market was really nice and there are plenty of food and drink options. What surprised me was that this is a main tourist area yet none of the signs were in anything but German. We didn’t order food or drink because we didn’t know what it was. The same with maps for the area. It’s hard to navigate.

Really enjoy Marienplatz.

Really enjoy Marienplatz. Would recommend taking the lift up the Bell Tower to get a view of the city centre. Right opposite the City Hall they also have a huge bakery - recommend getting the giant pretzel. Also if you walk away from Marienplatz with the City Hall on your right, there is also a lovely souvenir shop with authentic wooden cuckoo clocks and Christmas decorations inside. Little gem. And don't forget to visit the very expensive chocolate shop called Ladarach - worth every penny. Recommend the blueberry and raspberry chocolate tray x

Legendary spot in Munich and a must when visiting.

Legendary spot in Munich and a must when visiting. We had an unfortunate experience at the first restaurant we chose with an extremely rude waitress but we soon forgot about it when we moved on to the next restaurant, where we were well looked after. The walking tours in Munich start here and I would advise anyone who wants to get a taste of this fabulous city, especially if on a short stay, to book a tour.
