The place is in a remote location in the calm waters, facing the Philae Temple. Room feels like a highly comfortable house in a dream village. Spa facilities are amazing, I would highly recommend the Egyptian hot stamp massage of Mrs. Zainab. The staff is super kind, joyous and peaceful, Mr. Shoum from the restaurant, making my check-out breakfast box with a fresh mango juice ready in a blink of an eye, Mrs. Merna and Mr. Joseph in the front desk being very helpful, upgrading my room to a jakuzi room, solving all my requests in minutes and, Mr. Besim delivering me my necklaces (that I realized that I forgot in my bathrobe’s pocket in the airport) in a speedy way right to the airport, all unforgettable… With the elegantly natural interior and exterior design in breeze of basil Ben Ben by Dhara is an oasis for Egyptian tourism. Because the place takes place in the lower dam you need to reach there by taxi and take the hotel’s boat waiting in the dock, but it’s worth the distance. I’d highly recommend, do not hesitate.

That was absolutely wonderful stay. Staff was so humble and always attentive. Hisham is a gem of a person, always kind and he is always there for any assistance needed. He looked after entire hotel & guests, really such a wonderful human. Room was good, bathroom was nice with super pressure of water. I strongly recommend to everyone

A highlight of my 11-day trip through Egypt! After experiencing all kinds of accommodations—including a luxurious all-inclusive five-star resort in Hurghada—this was hands-down my favorite hotel and the one I absolutely have to recommend. The location is excellent, and thanks to the warm hospitality of the owner, I even got to enjoy a rare experience: swimming at a sandy beach on the Nile River. Yes, a beach on the Nile! Each day we enjoyed delicious local Egyptian food for breakfast and dinner, made with fresh vegetables. The owner would personally introduce the dishes and explain how to eat them, which made each meal feel special. And let’s not forget Cooper, the adorable dog who kept us company during our stay. The room was a bit small, but the staff were incredibly kind and made everything feel effortless. We had a 3:40 AM departure to visit Abu Simbel, and the staff were already up waiting for us—with a packed breakfast ready and even a boat to take us to the dock. Not once did anyone mention tips or extra charges. If you've traveled in Egypt, you know how exhausting it can be to constantly deal with price changes and repeated tipping. Here, everything felt honest and respectful—you tip if and when you feel like it. That level of trust and kindness made a big difference.

Really comfortable stay here in this nubian guest house. The staff and Aya were so welcoming and helpful. They arranged a taxi to abu simbel and ensured that we had everything we needed. We also had a cute balcony over looking the nile. We unfortunately didn't have time to eat in the restaurant but heard great things!

Take your own pics!!! Don't get fooled by armed guards who will offer to take pics for you & expect to be tipped even if they never took the pic properly! Was very disappointed & so was the armed guard who had rubber bands keeping his bullets on in his Ak47😳

Out of the croud of the city this place is actually on little island (don't worry you always have someone to take you and bring you by boat) just next to the amazing temple of Philae. The Old nubian guest house is really a beautiful place where really kind people are working. We enjoyed our staying (we even cut our visit programs just to enjoy the place). I definitely recommend this place and the restaurant (the food was really nice too).

The property is really beautiful and clean and located on the West Bank, close to the public ferry and the tombs of the nobles. The facilities are new and clean. Really good place to enjoy Aswan. I also need to thank you the host Tamer for all what they have done to us. I strongly recommend for your stay in Aswan! He organized trip to Nubian village, elephantine island, high dam, the Temple of Philae, the High Dam and the missing obelisk at very reasonable price.

The room was clean, and comfortable with the most beautiful view over the Nile from the balcony. The staff were lovely and helped us organise tours to Abu Simbel, the temple of Philae etc. Elephantine Island was quiet and easily accessible via local ferry.

The place is very beautiful as it is located directly on the Nile and near the Temple of Philae, away from the noise of the city. You can enjoy the stars at night and the sunrise as well. The service was also excellent, and the price was very reasonable for the value. Note: There are almost no supermarkets or fruit shops on the island, so you can bring them with you from Aswan :)
