Wonderful little gem of a hotel, just a hundred meters from the Cheval Blanc at 10x this price. We booked the junior suite, where the bed was heavenly, shower newly renovated and amazing, and even had a japanese-style toilet - tmi but want to give you the full picture. Reception desk, although busy (running single-handed) were really pleasant to deal with and super-polite. We've stayed at some of the best hotels in Paris, and see no reason to fork out a king's ransom any longer. This is more than enough hotel, and in an ideal location. No need to shop around, this is the best value for money around. That is not to say that you should hike your prices though :-)

The staff is amazing, so polite and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. I had the best sleep. It is very close to louvre(10 min on foot) and metro station. The free refreshments during the day and in the mini bar are such a nice gesture!

Louvre Museum

Away from the adoring crowds that gather before the glass-encased-and-untouchable vision of the Mona Lisa, the Louvre stashes a veritable treasure trove of artistic gems. Corridors run above and below ground for such a distance that it would take you over 100 years to gaze at every masterpiece for just 30 seconds.

We booked tickets in advance.

We booked tickets in advance. If you are meeting up with anyone be sure to meet at the correct museum entrance! There are lockers inside which is great and they are free and will take a carry on suitcase but be sure you have no alcohol in your luggage! There are no signs to tell you this and we were carrying a special bottle for a birthday celebration. Your luggage goes through scanners. Depending how long you have in the museum plan what you would like to see. We only had a couple of hours so made sure we saw the big attractions then had time to wander. It's a huge museum, you could easily spend a day there.

External facade is good .. BUT ..

External facade is good .. BUT .. Figure out your signages please! give elevators that align with your museum route. Assign levels that dont confuse people. give fountain water, give eating places the right spots.. this was an architectural planning disaster, esp if u travel with a wheelchair or stroller. Compared to this, Rijks was perfect.

The Louvre has some of the world's greatest art, but to enjoy it their queuing procedures could be improved. Our line queue was posted an hour before we went in - it would have been quicker to have joined the no-prebooked line. The crush to see Mona Lisa is not pleasant, and could be much better organised, it ruined the moment. There are other masterpieces that are more accessable in the museum.

I would recommend visiting the Louvre Museum for its unparalleled collection of art and history. As one of the largest and most famous museums in the world, it houses masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo. The museum's stunning architecture, including the iconic glass pyramid, adds to its allure. With vast galleries showcasing works from various periods and cultures, it's easy to spend hours exploring.

The location. Since it’s central, we walked most of the time to reach the tourist spots. 8-10 mins. walk to Louvre museum on a relaxed pace. There are also many great cafe and restaurants around. The room size is just right for us since we didn’t bring any big luggages. There is a short hallway to reach our room which made a lot of difference for the noise control since the room next to ours is probably a room where the washing machine is. We can hear it working when we get near our front door from the inside.

Go to the Louvre on a Thursday, it's a lot quieter. Don't queue up at the pyramid; use the underground entrance next to the metro. If you're under 26, don't queue for a ticket, just show your passport at the entrance to the exhibitions

Choose hotels and restaurants that aren't "name-branded" chains. Explore side streets. Go to mass instead of just touring Notre Dame or Sacre Coeur. Visit the Louvre on Sunday when it is free to mingle with the locals. Take the metro instead of cabs. It's cheaper and can be part of the adventure if you live in a city without a subway.

Musee d'Orsay had an exhibition of Van Gogh's work which was amazing. I also really enjoyed Musee Rodin which has his sculptures displayed in the gardens which are worth a visit in their own right. The scent of roses was lovely. It is also great to watch the artists at work in the streets around Sacre Coeur Cathedral. The architecture of buildings in Paris is also really attractive and varied. And then there is the Louvre - really too much to take in on one visit.
