Absolutely loved our stay in Relax Hotel Takayama. We were so surprised about how spacious the room is - it’s like 3 or 4 times bigger than the normal room in Japan. They also provided us with free drinks for both kids and adults! Location is superb - maybe 1-2 mins walk from the station. I highly recommend this to families. Thank you!

Great location. Staff are helpful, pleasant, and speak sufficient English. The room itself is essentially an apartment, so the value for the price is outstanding. Includes a washer/dryer! And they helped me with luggage forwarding.

This place is amazing, the staff is amazing, the experiences are amazing. The morning prayers are very suggestive and the breakfast cooking fun, they explain to you everything and they do it with nice smile and passion. Thank you to Mihoko, the monk and the host that helped me with the breakfast making Ryou (I don’t know if I spell it right) and the host from Hokkaido ( unfortunately I don’t know his name). It has been a real pleasure!

Clean hotel. Great location. Nice staff. The cafe kitchen took care of my girlfriend's gluten allergy. We stayed in the top floor suite. It was rad.

Takayama Old Town

Takayama flourished as a wealthy trading town during the Edo Period, and today its Old Town is one of Japan’s best-preserved. Its cobbled lanes are lined with 17th-century houses, shrines and sake breweries, which open their doors to anyone keen for a taste of local life from bygone days.
