Beautiful property and well appointed rooms. Lovely decor and amazing food. We were thoroughly spoilt by Claire and the team at Warden’s House. The daily safaris were an excellent bonus - we saw a leopard!! We had an unforgettable stay and can’t wait to go back.

My favourite days in Sri Lanka. Peace, nature and a generous and warm host. The safari Prasad arranged was perfect - lots of elephants, a beautiful lotus lake, black- faced monkeys, lots of birds and only 3 other jeeps in the 4.5 hours. The rooms are clean, with a hammock next to a little stream, iguanas, peacocks, monkeys and eagles in the garden. Prasad's mum's coconut rotis are the best I had in my 3 weeks and the room and safari were great value. Thanamalwila has few tourists so unspoilt and the family will help with everything from bus bookings, travel advice to taking me to see a friends farm to see crops growing. The buses from Ella and Galle stop directly outside the homestay so it's really easy to get to. The safari is in Blocks 5 and 6 of Yala. If you want a peaceful safari then I highly recommend Prasad's place.

Everything. The place is amazing inside, very quiet and peaceful. The host is more than a beautiful person, so friendly, caring, and always responsive. I arrived yo another hotel by mistake since they have similar names and she called me to ask when I will be there. I explained to her that I got confused and I was in the wrong place and she had so much understanding about the situation and got worried that something may have happened to me. The hospitality of this place is just unique. The room was exactly as the pictures shown. Spacious, super clean, clean sheets and big bathroom, all new constructed and in perfect condition. There was a balcony with a wonderful view in the forest, coffee, a kettle, and cups to have your coffee im the morning, laundry service, food delivery at your room, and a fridge. There was hot water, very rare in Sri lanka, good water pressure, and place to hand your towels and things on the bathroom. WIFI was good, considering that you are in a Forrest and you can book the safari with them, better do it through your host they know they best guides!! Overall, it'd one of the best places I have stayed world-wide and with better quality and service from most of the 4 and 5* hotels I have been to, with a very reasonable price.

Great location if you are looking for quiet and nature Amazingly friendly and warm family who runs the place Comfortable bed and pillows Good food I booked this place very last minute on my way from Ella towards the beaches in the south. So far it has been my best stay in Sri Lanka. The hosts were very kind, I got to fish in the lake for a few hours and we ate some of the fish for dinner after. They helped arrange a Safari for me. I only wish I stayed longer but was running short on time to squeeze in a few more towns before I leave Sri Lanka. I forgot a shirt that was gifted to me in the room and the family is sending to me in the next town over, very kind of them as the item hold a lot of sentimental value. Anyone looking for a quiet nature area where you can observe many birds and aquatic wildlife will absolutely love this place!
