HaciBayram is a hidden gem among a sea of mediocre hotels in Istanbul that promise a lot but deliver nothing. This hotel was a lucky find for us, we were blown away by the ambiance and the friendly staff of the hotel. The room was spacious and clean. We had a balcony of our own, and had a lot of room to sort our luggage. The space aspect is definitely rare to find in Istanbul. The people at reception day and night were quick to respond to our calls. They have an incredibly friendly and professional staff. They were pretty cooperative regarding our luggage as well, since our flight was delayed and we had nowhere to take the luggage to. Last but not the least, the breakfast! what an amazing experience regarding breakfast. Loved the food, loved the ambiance. Will definitely stay here next time we visit Istanbul.

The location is very good, our stay is very comfortable, and there are many places to eat nearby. The reception was very friendly, telling us the information that only local people would know, and helped us find a fair reliable taxi. The room is very clean and the bathroom is also very good.

It’s in the middle of the tourist area, but very quiet inside the hotel and rooms. Very nice atmosphere, genuinely helpful staff, attention to detail. Not too much variety but very good breakfast buffet. Amazing view from the breakfast restaurant 😍. Will definitely come back 💯

Blue Mosque

Constructed between 1609 and 1616, the striking Sultan Ahmed Mosqueo—or "Blue Mosque"—is still a place of worship today. With no war victories to fund it, this expensive structure had to be paid for straight from the treasury – angering the Ottoman legal scholars of the time. Non-Muslim visitors are encouraged to visit, but should be respectful of the strict dress code.

A famous but fully respectable by its visitors sightseeing.

A famous but fully respectable by its visitors sightseeing. Although the entrance is free, serenity and harmony prevail. Cannot tell the same about the neighbouring Agia Sophia, whose redeployment to a mosque does not serve the new scope and downgrades the original monument.

The Blue Mosque — Sacred Stillness in a Lively World

The Blue Mosque — Sacred Stillness in a Lively World Stepping into the courtyard of the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii) is like crossing into another time. Its towering minarets and sweeping domes echo with centuries of prayer, artistry, and devotion — a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture that still breathes with the spirit of Islam. Inside, the air is silent despite the buzz of tourists. Light filters through stained-glass windows, dancing across thousands of hand-painted blue Iznik tiles. There’s a deep reverence here — not only for faith, but for heritage itself. You feel it in every arch, every call to prayer, every quiet footstep across the carpeted floor. And yet, outside the mosque, life unfolds with its own charm: cats stretch lazily in sun-warmed corners, dogs nap peacefully under shady trees. Meanwhile, travelers from every corner of the world struggle for the perfect angle — clicking away hundreds of “crazy” photos, but always with a sense of wonder. Despite the crowds, the atmosphere remains remarkably friendly and trustworthy. Locals smile. Tourists help each other with photos. There's an unspoken agreement to respect the moment — and the place. This isn’t just a tourist stop. It’s a symbol — of culture that knows how to honor the past without shutting the present out. And it leaves you walking away with something more than just pictures.

Ensure that you have clothing that covers your knees, apllicable to both men and women. Women additionally need to ensure that they have a headscarf to cover head and shoulders. They now charge for the coverings if you don't have

As a Christian, first time in a mosque, I was impressed. The colors and architecture are impressive. I was lucky enough to have the accommodation 5min away so I could enjoy the beauty before going in, one night before. I recognize I was disguised by the non-Muslims that are not able to respect other people beliefs and gets in the prayer area just for pictures. Pity them. You should never put your pictures before the place you are, no matter what.

The staff is very friendly and responsive as I kept changing my arrival/chek in time and they weren't bothered by that. The apartment is spacious, clean and comfy. The location is really good! Few minutes walk to the sea and bus station. And only 10-20 minutes walks to most attractions ( Aya Sofia, the Blue mosque,) and the tram that will take you to the most famous Palaces and Musuems. It is surrounded by restaurants and small shops so you will get everything you need.

Hotel Nena was the perfect choice for our first stay in Istanbul. Located right in the heart of Sultanahmet, everything was just a short walk away — from the Blue Mosque to Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. The room was cozy, the breakfast spread was excellent, and the staff were very accommodating. They even allowed us to store our luggage while we explored Cappadocia and Pamukkale for a few days. Overall, it’s a wonderful hotel for first-time visitors to Istanbul!

The hotel was really nice and clean. The location is perfect — right in the center, just 10–15 minutes’ walk to Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, and only 5 minutes to the Grand Bazaar. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful — I’m very grateful for their support! They always responded quickly on WhatsApp and helped with everything I needed.
