Full marks to the Henry Norman for wonderfully friendly and helpful front desk. Check-in and check-out were a positive pleasure. Lots of good advice about the neighbourhood We stayed in a big family loft-style room which was partitioned into a sleeping space and a living-space with sofa-bed. Given that we were there for five nights, we were delighted to find that the kitchen had everything we might want — toaster, coffee-maker, fridge, oven, plenty of crockery and cutlery etc. Good fast internet. Quiet street. Arty but relaxed decor. I hope to stay again.

Design of interior rooms, lobby, etc. was modern, clean, crisp and ergonomic. Quality in size of room, hardware and all furnishings, loved the automatic blackout screen and sheer curtains, large windows with view. Service and staff response quick, friendly and efficient.

the design, decor, room, view, location, staff - absolutely everything - we stayed there twice in the past month for 4 days and then 6 days a few days later - they upgraded us for the second stay - the cafe chelsea where we had breakfast every day (running a salon most days) was wonderful, the bar was great, the service and the staff amazing, as I've already said - the best hotel I've ever stayed at bouncing the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo to number 2
