We felt warmly welcomed at check-in, with excellent service right from the start. The waterfront views from our room were stunning — we could see surfers riding waves and boats gliding across the sea just yards away. The hotel also has great shops inside, making it convenient and enjoyable to explore.

Beautiful beach. The water is incredible.

Beautiful beach. The water is incredible. However, Waikiki is very noisy, dirty, crowded, and can be sketchy/dangerous after dark if off the few main streets. A lot of troubled homeless. More of a city experience than a tropical getaway. Expensive. Not a good value due to the city-related issues. I would not choose to vacation here.

There is a wide beach frontage, with all the deck chairs and umbrellas, best thing to do bring your own floatie and beach chair and just float the day away in the beautiful water. If you swim in front of the Royal Hawaiian you might even see the turtles that were in the water when we visited, we were lucky enough that one popped up right next to us. Amazing experience, an absolute highlight of our visit.

Our hotel lent us towels and beach chairs.

Our hotel lent us towels and beach chairs. Before you settle on a spot, check out the far left as it has a man made shorebreak that makes the waves much less agressive and it was great for someone like me who doesn't like to be pushed around by the waves. There were many kids playing in the water because it was so calm. We went in May and the water was around 68 degrees. The sun is strong, I recommend you buy an umbrella at the ABC store of Longs they are around $20 and totally worth it. It was very hard to find a shady spot.

You're unable to see the beach from the street due to the extensive buildup of hotels. But you can walk through the hotels to get to it eventually. Kaulakaula Avenue is similar to Rodeo Drive in LA. The "mom & pop" shops on the side streets are closed. If you don't have a microwave, refrigerator or kitchenette you'll be paying "big bucks" for your food. There's a Safeway Grocery store for your food needs near to Waikiki beach. Traffic in the Beach area is heavy. If you don't have a map there are volunteers throughout the area who can direct you. I recommend the Ilima Hotel for your stay. It's 2 blocks away from the beach, reasonable, has limited free parking, 10 minutes from Safeway, and easy access to the H1.

The best part of this hotel is the location. It is less than 5 min walk to Waikiki Beach. Also there are a lot of shops and malls nearby. The hotel itself was just a place to lay your head, nothing special but still good. I would say it’s good for solo travelers and you get your own little balcony. The staff are very friendly and have great recommendations for what to do and where to go.

The location is superb - it is the last of the high-rise hotels along Waikiki Beach, so even with a side room, we had an unobstructed view of Queen's Beach and Kalakaua Avenue. We watched the Flower Parade, various musical acts and the movie on Sunset Beach - all from the comfort of our balcony. For this alone the cost of an ocean view room was worth every penny. The 3 free rental items from Beach Candy were a big plus - we could get 2 chairs and an umbrella for free each day.

The location is near Diamond Head, one block away from Waikiki Beach. We loved the convenience of the location. The hotel staff was friendly and our room was a good size for three people. We enjoyed that breakfast was served at no additional cost. Beach towels and water are available in the lobby. The hotel is close to the beach, dining, the Honolulu Zoo and Aquarium, and various activities. Tour buses regularly stop out front for excursions around the island.

The property is perfectly located on Waikiki beach and near great shopping and restaurants. The historic charm of the exterior with the renovated interior was a great stay. We also loved being able to rent surfboards and beach chairs from the hotel so we didn’t have to run around to organize those.

-Frontdesk people were very helpful & friendly (can hold bags pre&post check ins, 24hrs service, free beach towels, early check-in if possible) -just 8-10min walk to waikiki beach -clean hotel & spacious room -i got a better deal. $400+ for 3 night stays. -A/c is old but makes the room cool -All 3 days, I likely found parking on the long street around the corner. Or you can park in roads 0.8 mi away if you can walk. Check sign boards -Balcony was good with some view.

I had an amazing stay in this apartment. The place is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly need - from beach chairs and umbrellas to toiletries and thoughtful little touches. The view of the ocean is absolutely breathtaking, and it was such a joy to wake up to it every morning. The location is perfect, just a short walk to Waikiki Beach, restaurants, and shops. I couldn't have asked for a better stay and would definitely love to come back!

Very elegant, clean, modern hotel. Waikiki can feel hectic but when you enter the Halepuna you are in a peaceful oasis. We also loved the nearby beach. It is a quaint public park, much better than the main Waikiki beach.
