Arenal Observatory Lodge was highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. Location and facilities are simply amazing. We didn’t expect to lay on our beds and watch volcano and toucans perched on the trees right by our windows! Staff is wonderful. Luis was our driver who picked us up in San Jose and told us a lot about area, tours and facilities during our ride. He was attentive and caring. He also delivered sunglasses we forgot in the shop in La Fortuna, was very kind of him. Carlos from reception helped us to receive our luggage which was delayed by airline. He informed us when luggage finally arrived. Trails are in very good conditions and have protection from rain every km or so. Trails were easy or moderate, so even my mum who is 64 coped with them and truly enjoyed it. Food in the restaurant is very tasty and well presented. Thanks to everyone in the Lodge who made our stay unforgettable!

Arenal lodge is a real Costa Rican gem hidden at the top of a hill. The views are magnificent, the natural grounds are infinite and with swimming pool and jacuzzi, the food is excellent, the staff is courteous but the true gift of this place is Dona Teresa who takes the meaning of hospitality to another level. She truly invested herself in making us feel comfortable and ensuring we had the best possible stay. She personally arranged all our tours and made sure we had transport to our next destination. We thank her and her husband for their kindness, such a warm welcome and for being so attentive to our needs.

The view from our balcony was amazing! You have the cloud forest in the grasp of your hand! We received a little map on our arrival and recommendations about the different activities in Monteverde. We really appreciated that. The town Santa Elena is very graphic with friendly people and multiple restaurants! Highly recommend this place.

There are 3 tree houses. Initially I was disappointed because our tree house was overlooking the car park. However, the car park only ever had the maximum of 3 cars so it’s not an issue. Inside we turned the armchairs around to face the trees. Within a few minutes of settling in 2 beautiful birds flew down and perched on the branches of the trees right in front of us. The coatis took more time to visit but they really put on a show. We really didn’t know what to expect from a treehouse but the house was really comfy and the bed was high enough so we could see the trees while lying in bed. we had a brilliant time. Edwin gave us lots of good tips about where to eat and places to visit which we really appreciated. I would definitely recommend the experience.

Colorful happy house in the mountains with small infinity pool. I suggest to stay there for longer than one night, to enjoy the space. it is spectacular. Great dinner and breakfast!
