The host was very friendly and welcoming. He was respectful and gave us space but had lots of very good suggestions which we enjoyed.
He even helped us to set up the bbq pit and get it going so we could bbq, and there were lots of groceries and things that were provided.
The facilities are generous: can take 12 guests comfortably with two shower rooms and 4 WCs
The place is quiet with easy parking and within short drive (less than 30 minutes) of major outdoor adventure locations. Its a great base camp for outdoor activities.
I would love to come again in a different season and see all that minakami has to offer!

The lodge itself is great. I had a nice room with a balcony overlooking the mountains and the stream nearby. Easily reached by car or by a local bus. Lots to do nearby, from visiting the deepest train station in Japan to going on hikes. All in all I had a great stay. Big thanks to the host for making me feel so welcomed.

The staff was very welcoming, and the onsen was quite large. Room was very good.
Located in Tsumagoi, Shurin provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace.

Tenjin Lodge is easy to get to, has welcoming staff, and proximity to mind blowing winter terrain. It's a great value when all is considered and the meals are as delicious as their restaurant recommendations in Minakami. We had a great time and will be back!
