The Moving Inn Tokachi was a real gem and definitely one of the highlights of our road trip around Hokkaido. The staff were amazing - especially Reijun san - who ensured an incredibly relaxing and pampered stay. I would really recommend including meals with your accommodation - everything was locally sourced and delicious - eating dessert reclining beside the fire pit was great. We loved the sauna and spa pool that were fuelled by fire and the icy plunge pool. Despite the small size, everything that you would ever think you’d need was available - including bear repellant spray. The location is really beautiful and although at first we were nervous about bears, the electric fence surrounding the property and the surveillance system put us at ease. The take away iced tea drinks on our departure were a lovely touch. Looking forward to re-visiting during the different seasons - need to stay longer than one night!

Host Jimmy san was a delight. He looked after our family helping us gather ski rental and transferring us to and from the ski resort daily. We opted to eat in and the meals were delicious. The family onsen was clean and convenient.

Wonderfully private cabin with a very boutique and comfortable feel. The staff were outstanding, particularly Brittney and Anton. Breakfast every morning was included and just awesome. The central lodge was an awesome gathering ground for small groups to hang out comfortably by the fire enjoying cocktails and great conversation.

Great value for the price, very basic lodge. Staff is very friendly and the breakfast is good. Location is just OK-you really need a car to avoid walking with your skis.

The lodge itself is beautiful and homey! Loved the layout and had a great sleep! The beds are a little short for those over 6ft (but! There’s more room at the end of the bed, it’s just not apart of the mattress - you’ll survive). Breakfast in the morning was simple but brillant. Everything about the lodge I loved but the location wasn’t as convenient as I thought it would be for Niseko mountain passes - but if you’re skiing Moiwa then the slopes are a 1min walk away!

The village area is much more enjoyable than the bright lights of a swanky resort to me. This lodge is really sweet and a great place to meet other like minded people

An excellent and homely lodge that is ran by a friendly and considerate owner. Recommend you do not pre-book any rentals as they can provide a much more competitive price with delivery and pick-up directly to the lodge. The Onsen was a life-saver after a day of skiing and fantastic value compared to other far more expensive options in Hirafu. Public and shared facilities were maintained to an impeccable level of cleanliness.
