Furthermore, he arranges Sri Lankan cooking lessons for foreign guests, which is a wonderful initiative to share our food and culture with the world. What impressed us most is that all of this is offered at an affordable price, and the team works tirelessly 24/7 to give their very best to guests. Overall, Rock Shade Chalet is a perfect place for a peaceful family getaway, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sigiriya.

The room itself was spacious and clean, the surroundings are beautiful with a nice view of the rock and paddy fields all over , and a nice lake a couple of minutes away. The food was absolutely delicious, I had dinner and breakfast, the curries were simply superb , varied and home style. All in all a very good, comfortable and enriching stay

The entrance was a little hidden, and there was no office, but the host came out when we arrived and showed us to our room. Fruit juice was provided once we settled in, which we had on the balcony. Rooms were great and very clean, the bathroom large and very nice. Breakfast was great, a recommended out of the way gem.

The room has enough space, clean and the beds are huge with comfortable mattresses. It is located in a quiet area, the air is so fresh at night time so we sleep without fan. Morning breakfast cooked with love by owner’s wife, always fresh coconut roti, eggs and fresh fruits. Thank u guys. We really enjoy our time at your place.
