I really liked the view of the bridge. It is in a quiet location far from the city center. We had a clean and tidy room. The breakfast was plentiful. The accommodation provider was at our disposal for everything. A tuk-tuk driver was always available. Transfer to and from the next accommodation.

This house has all the necessary amenities for a trip. The view from the terrace to the jungle, even during the rain, is calming. The hostess is super polite and super kind. The road to the hotel is a bit difficult if you are driving your own car, so we did not risk going down to the city in the evening. But we still liked everything very much.

Best stay ever!! Everything was amazing!! The extremely caring host, the comfortable great room, bed, lighting, amazing view to the train tracks and lush nature. We immediately felt like part of the family. Devaka has been showing us around his beautiful garden. He is generous, warm -hearted- a very great person! He got deep into our hearts. He brings the word "homestay" to another level- never have we felt so at home in such short time!! We got a tea from his own garden every day as well! The food is home cooked and of course also very delicious. It is the best authentic caring beautiful homestay ever in Sri Lanka

We stayed here for 2 nights and were so happy we chose to be slightly out of the main streets of Ella. It was so peaceful at the Spice Lodge and only a short tuk tuk or walk down to the hustle and main restaurants of Ella. The host did try to contact us for our arrival time to help us up the stairs with our bags, but I missed the message. The gorgeous rooms have such fun little touches splashed around the place, the bed, desk, and doors are all made out of pallets and lots of other handmade items make it feel very homey. There's a kettle and fridge and breakfast is served at the time you ask for on the little outdoor table. It is very clean and as there are only two rooms it's very private as well. From here we walked 30 minutes to the top of Little Adams Peak. We also did the walk to the nine arches bridge early one morning.

The location is the best of the worse for those who are doing the Pekoe trail. Stage 11-12. It offers a breathe-taking view of the valley below. The owners gave us such great hospitality. The room was clean it gave us a much needed respite from a long day of hiking. If you are taking the pekoe trail, there is a shortcut to the location which is slightly off track. It’s short but intense but could save you 30mins to an hour. I suggest that you take it. Dinner and breakfast was sooooo good. Really nice after a long day of hiking
