Udawalawe National Park is 16 km from Maika safari lodge. Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport is 50 km away. We stayed there for one night for a safari tour at the next day. We had a delicious, big dinner and great breakfast. The host organized us a great morning safari tour with prefect driver. all went well. thanks for the memory.

Such a tranquil location with Sameera and his family being the perfect hosts. When I arrived he showed me around his garden and pointed out all the spices and plants he grows. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, I had the most restful night’s sleep and it’s truly a unique experience staying in the middle of the jungle amongst the wildlife. Sameera also organised a great safari for me with Milan. If this is part of your itinerary make sure to book through them! Afterwards the delicious home cooked breakfast introduced me to authentic Sri Lankan dishes including hoppers and their sweet pancake rolls. After checking out Sameera dropped me off at the bus stop and even waited with me to make sure I got on safely. This caring and considerate gesture reflects the hospitality at Wild River Side and I can’t recommend staying there enough.

With Udawalawe National Park reachable in 14 km, Lizard Safari Lodge provides accommodation, a restaurant, a garden, a shared lounge and a bar. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Best Safari guide ever, Nandu (guide and owner of the property) was very nice and calm. Drove us to a lunch place and took us back so we don't have to walk in the heat. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Owner showed us many different animals that we never seen before, very interesting experience. The dinner family made was delicious also.

Both a bicycle rental service and a car rental service are available at EMERALD HAVEN SAFARI Cottages, while cycling can be enjoyed nearby. rooms were very clean and provided with a water bottle, 2 nos towels and mini soaps.. Owner him self managing the service perhaps, such a nice person with calm behavior. They booked our safari for us and truly made it a memorable stay.

Some units include a terrace and/or a balcony with river views. The rooms are simple and clean, set in a lush, green environment close to the safari. The place is absolutely beautiful — right in the middle of the jungle — and what makes it even more special is the kindness of the owners. Madhu gave us a wonderful cooking class; she’s an exceptional chef! The rice and curry were delicious, the Sri Lankan lunch was incredible, and even the safari picnic was perfect. This place is a true delight for the eyes, the heart, and the taste buds.

Providing mountain views, Rosewood Manor in Botiyatenna provides accommodation, free bikes, a fitness centre, a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. Both WiFi and private parking are available at the lodge free of charge. We were a family of five with adult children and had the whole villa for ourselves, and the experience was amazing! The villa is newly built and everything felt brand new but yet very familiar with Ishan heading a super attentive and nice staff. The views are breathtaking over the surrounding mountains, with a small river pond on the property to take a refreshing dip into (together with the small fish givning you a interesting fish spa experience). We just felt blessed staying in this tranquille environment, enjoying excellent food and just hanging out together. It was definitely more than worth the bumpy ride up to this place. Big thanks to Ishan with staff that made this an extraordinary experience.

A buffet, Full English/Irish or Asian breakfast can be enjoyed at the property. At the lodge you will find a restaurant serving American, Cajun Creole and Chinese cuisine. Vegetarian, dairy-free and halal options can also be requested. Excellent accomodation for the price with super friendly and helpful hosts. They organised a private 4 hr safari including breakfast and lunch for $60 each. We saw so much wildlife and it seemed to go on for much longer than the agreed 4 hours! The driver / guide managed to find lots of interesting animals. Lunch in the park overlooking the lake was a highlight too. The accomodation is a 5 minute drive to the park, and the gardens surrounding the bungalow are beautifully landscaped. The property was spotlessly clean too.

A toaster and kettle are also provided. The staff were nice and they were really reactive whenever we needed something. Perfect stay ! Both WiFi and private parking are accessible at the lodge free of charge. We were undecided about our National Park visit. We saw the evaluations for nature glow had, and it turned out they were 100% accurate. They organized a driver to pick us up and Ella and drive us to their magical accommodation. There are two accommodation villas located on a rise of land above a small creek entering a larger river. It's very much in the jungle with wildlife abounding. The air conditioning, which was important to us worked very well, and the bed, room and bathroom were all very good. Our hosts arranged for a safari driver for the two of us. The next morning we are up early and went on Safari in the national park. We saw many many elephants, both solo and in groups of females with their babies. And we also saw a variety of other wildlife. For us Sri Lankan food was a new experience. I fully recommend that you arrange to have your breakfast and dinner at the villa. The dishes were authentic and delicious. We were treated to a variety of different Sri Lankan food. Our host were wonderful people. They took pride and doing everything possible to make our stay as comfortable enjoyable and interesting as possible.
