We truly enjoyed staying in the middle of the mountains and they also have a wonderful pointview overlooking the breathtaking sunsets. The cabin we stayed in was very comfy and functional, and had a beautiful balcony where we enjoyed meals and coffee overlooking the trees and mountains. Their café offered very good options for breakfast and lunch, and all the restaurants in the town would deliver to our cabin door. Cabañas Rancho Viejo is about a 30-min walk away from San José via a road but there are several motorised taxis that will take you there and back for an inexpensive fare. They also offer daily activities to their guests (we didn't have enough time to take part in them but they looked fun!).

The lodge features a barbecue. The vibe was wonderful. Very chill. Gio the owner was extremely helpful and sweet. The pool was great and there’s a lot of shade. Completely stocked kitchen and close to shops and restaurants and the beach. The beds were also very comfortable. Extremely good value! I would recommend to everyone!

Nice hot shower with seashell shower head.
