Jey, Sebastian, and their staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We followed their advice on what to visit in the area and where to eat, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere at the house was very comfortable and relaxing, and we truly felt well taken care of throughout our stay. Buenavista is a very calm and local village with super friendly people — away from the noise of Bacalar, but close enough if you want to make a quick visit. We especially loved the breakfast – everything was fresh and delicious, with both continental and local options (the best cochinita pibil we’ve tried!). The facilities were also excellent: clean, well-maintained, and beautifully designed. One of the highlights of our trip was the sailing excursion. Sebastian took us on a sailboat through the Bacalar Lagoon, where we could see the beautiful colors of the water and take a swim. Afterwards, he treated us to some mojitos and guacamole. We highly recommend Casa Cactus and would definitely love to come back!

A terrace is available for guests at the lodge to use. It’s beautiful, everything about Shanti is luxury and high quality. It’s quiet location, a short 5 minute walk into the hustle and bustle and moments from the beach, provides a tranquil and peaceful space. The staff were so welcoming and helpful from moment of arrival, and served a delicious breakfast in the morning! I was working remote and the Wi-Fi was quick and super reliable, no issues on any of my zoom calls. Everything about Shanti was just perfect and I cannot wait to return.

Staying on the river instead of in the chaotic town of Livingston felt like a better experience.

The staff were so sweet and helpful and truly made the experience special for us. When even had a flat tire one day and they handled everything for us while we were gone for the day. The facility is gorgeous, the food and drinks are tasty, the location is perfect, and the value is excellent. I can't recommend it enough!!

With garden views, Sweet Songs Jungle Lodge is located in San Ignacio and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable! Tours through the hotel were very easy to set up and guides were great! Bar/ restaurant was very good! We didn’t get to enjoy as much of the property as we’d liked since it was raining and we had to leave early but everything that we did see was just as perfect as the pictures online show
