Amazing experience!
Probably the most unique and beautiful places I have ever had the fortune to stay. Silk sand and crystal clear water!
Sook Peng and Fred are wonderful and kind hosts who help to ensure a brilliant stay.
They help to organize all the travel arrangements from your lodgings in Kota Kinabalu to the island via car and boat, and it all worked seamlessly.
The food that Sook Peng cooked was simply fantastic and some of the best I have had during my whole trip.
The lodge is very unique and they take their environmental responsibility very seriously.
Staying on the island is a once in a lifetime experience. It’s completely deserted apart from a small village and there are lots of different activities one can do. (Kayak, snorkel, diving, guided walks).
We did bonfires at night and spent the days in hammocks just meters from the beach as the local island cows wandered past.

From the seamless pick-up and drop-off from Sandakan to the incredible activities arranged by the lodge, every detail was perfect. The lodge itself was well-equipped and comfortable, and we were thrilled to find reliable WiFi in the common area.
The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the river cruises, expertly guided by Linda and her team. Their knowledge and dedication were evident, and they went above and beyond to ensure we saw the best wildlife the region has to offer, including the elusive Big 5. Linda's passion and expertise truly enhanced our experience, making each cruise an adventure to remember.
A special mention goes to the food – the best Malaysian home-cooked meals we’ve ever had! The lodge graciously accommodated our vegetarian request, and every meal was a delightful culinary experience.

Great location, nearby the orangutan rehabilitation center and Forest. Resort has wonderful walkways to spot wildlife and relax in the communal areas. We where able to visit nearby lodges for great food and atmosphere within a short walking distance too
The female dorm was great, comfortable & clean. The lodge is a short walk from all of the activities in Sepilok and they can help you reserve the Rainforest center night walk, which books up. The food in the restaurant was good and not as expensive as some of the other lodges in Sepilok.
Lodges were spacious cool clean and brand new bathrooms. Resort location is perfect. Much quieter than the other resorts.
Stayed one night. Rustic charming lodges with all facilities. Helpful staff, great lounge/restaurant sitting area. Can have a meal or a drink there and buy supplies of water etc. Fantastic location for Orangutan rehabilitation centre and Sun Bear centre both next door to each other 10 minutes walk from the property. No bags even small ones allowed in Orangutan centre but free lockers provided. Swimming pool closes at 17.30 Great jungle walkways around the site
Beautiful location, amazing lodges, lots of local wildlife all around us!
Perfect location for walking to the Rainforest Discover Centre and Orangutan Sanctuary. The complex is quite large with multiple lodges. The room was comfortable and large with AC and fan. The breakfast is okay and there is a restaurant which serves food until 8pm. You can pre order for eating after the RDC night safari.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. The lodges are situated within the Kinabalu park so you wake up to a breathtaking scenery of the mountain. It gets chilly in the evening and early morning. Our large king bed was super comfy. Breakfast was decent.
Howard was so passionate and informative, he went above and beyond to make this a great stay for us. Nothing was too much trouble and his family were so welcoming and hospitable. The lodges are a great location in the jungle, but also a 25 minute walk to the beach. It's an interesting but also peaceful environment to spend a few days exploring the area. The beach walk recommend by Howard was amazing, it's like paradise!
