Love Hotels in Takayama

Knowing that this is a “love hotel” and having read some previous reviews from foreign guests, we weren’t quite sure what to expect (or even if we’d be able to check in at all, since it says you need to call the hotel upon arrival to local Japanese phone number AND speak Japanese! :)). However, everything turned out much better than we expected! Before arriving and again just after we got there, we sent a message to the hotel through Booking.com — and we were warmly welcomed by a member of staff. He spoke only Japanese, but with today’s translation apps, that’s really not a problem anymore. He kindly explained the rules and showed us to our room. Yes, once you enter, the door is locked from the outside — but that was totally fine for us. The hotel is located outside the town, so there isn’t really anywhere to go after you arrive in the evening anyway. (And you can even order food and drinks directly to your room!) The room itself was very spacious, warm, and quiet. The bed was huge and super comfortable, and there was even a massage chair! We slept wonderfully and couldn’t believe we paid just over 50 euros for such a great stay! If we ever visit this area again, this hotel will definitely be our first choice.

Everything was full in Takayama for the weekend and we needed one room to spend the night. it was a fun experience! First you should have a car - it's outside takayama. we were heading towards Kamicochi, so it was fine. once we arrived, they notice our presence, showed us the place to park, the room was just in front. very private (it's a motel!), everything was spotless clean and it had good amenities. price was very nice for the quality and it's fun experience. they don't speak english, use translator, call from the room they show up in 1 minute. they are friendly and everything's fine. past bad comments show that: people don't read what they are booking for, don't know what they are going to and are pussies overall.
