The hotel has the best location in the heart of the old town to enjoy the atmosphere of the old town fully including night streets and morning monasteries quietness. Hotel s atmosphere is unique, old-style with all the comfort, and is like a museum decorated with so many exponats. people in hotel were totally helpful and kind and breakfast fantastic, thank you again and see you again! P.s. please note, it is common in china that in many hotels there are no wardrobes, which is to be considered if you are staying longterm.

Rooms are quiet and minimalist with great water pressure, reliable fast Wi-Fi, plenty of bedside outlets, and strong AC/heat. The bed and linens meet Western comfort standards. Breakfast can be chosen Chinese or Western—I tried both during my stay and each was fresh, well-presented, and generous (fresh juice and good coffee/tea included). Staff were proactive and friendly, arranged luggage pickup from the city gate, and communicated smoothly in English. The location is perfect for walking the lanes yet peaceful once inside the courtyard. Tips for Western travelers: cars can’t enter the old town, so message the hotel for pickup; wear comfortable shoes; and leave time to simply enjoy the courtyard—part heritage museum, part modern gallery. A flawless stay.

I really made the right choice with this homestay in Pingyao! The location is absolutely a hidden gem—just a two-minute walk gets you to Rishengchang Bank, so there’s no need to get up early to soak in the Jin merchant culture. It’s super convenient to head back for a break after visiting the attractions. What’s more, the surrounding area is bustling with life. When you stroll out in the evening, the lanterns light up, and old shops and street food stalls are right in front of you, full of that lively, authentic vibe. No need to hunt for places to eat; just step into any spot, and it’s sure to be delicious. The biggest surprise, though, is the service here—they truly take care of every little detail. When I checked in, the owner warmly introduced local attractions, even telling me which shop has the most authentic Pingyao beef and the best time to visit Rishengchang to avoid crowds. That kind of thoughtful care makes the whole trip feel so warm. I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back to Pingyao. Great location, amazing atmosphere, and service that’s second to none—highly recommended!

Everything! The room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was made fresh every morning. Location is perfect in the old city walls. The highlight is the staff! Heartwarming people who are going to make your stay memorable. I highly recommend asking to get Xin Yingjun as your driver to go sightseeing. He drove us everywhere we needed, recommended us restaurants and temples. He knows the city by heart and has so much to share. We couldn’t visit the Hanging Temple because of the weather, but I don’t regret it at all - he immediately came up with another plan that allowed us to visit so many beautiful temples in the city. He is very funny and energetic and such a kind person, he is going to make your stay one to remember!

Room was clean, spacious and bedding comfortable with a Nespresso machine in the room. We also enjoyed the diverse spread at breakfast - with lots of local fare and a good balance of non- local to choose from. We also appreciated the amazing speed of the staff who responded to our requests with friendliness and alacrity - the concierge desk, the bellboys and the ladies at the breakfast counters were very helpful during our stay. Highly recommended for a comfortable stay in Taiyuan

Friendly and polite staff, very welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant served delicious dishes at affordable prices. It is the perfect place to relax for the weekend. The Guandi Family Temple is only a 10min walk from the property, very easy to reach and totally worth the visit. As for other tourism attractions although a bit far, the hotel can recommend drivers and the prices are acceptable.
