The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the food, which was hands down the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka! Compliments to the chef for curating such exceptional dishes that left us speechless every single meal. The villa itself was beyond stunning—spacious, luxurious, and offering breathtaking views that made our 2-night stay unforgettable. Waking up to those views was an experience in itself. From the impeccable service to the incredible ambiance, everything about our time at Lemon Grass Villa was simply perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway and can’t wait to return. It has a beautiful pool with greenery all around. The rooms were very spacious, clean, comfortable, with modern bathrooms. We had everything we needed. The welcome ritual was pleasant, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. They even upgraded our room for free so we can have 2 rooms next to each other for the whole family. We tried the spa, and the massage was OK. We recommend it to everyone planning to visit kandy and stay at a fancy hotel.

We stayed at Simpson’s Forest – Luxury Boutique Resort & Spa in February 2025 and had a truly memorable experience. The location is absolutely stunning—set among lush tea plantations and forested hills, it’s the perfect retreat if you’re looking to relax and disconnect from the busy city life. The double room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed. The food throughout our stay was excellent, with a great mix of local and international dishes. The value for money here is exceptional, especially considering the level of service and quality of the facilities. The staff were a major highlight. The front desk team were warm, professional, and very helpful. A special mention to Wasantha at the restaurant—he was incredibly kind and accommodating, making each meal feel like a personalized experience. The only small downside is that the resort is located about 45 minutes by tuk tuk from Kandy city center, which can make getting back and forth a bit of a trip. That said, the peaceful setting more than makes up for the distance. We highly recommend Simpson’s Forest to anyone visiting Kandy and looking for a scenic, peaceful, and welcoming place to stay. We would definitely love to return!
