The property features garden views and is 4 km from Lake Henry and 4.2 km from Te Anau Wildlife Centre. The property is non-smoking and is set 3.7 km from Ivon Wilson Park. My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful stay! The accommodation was spotless and so incredibly comfortable that we ended up oversleeping by 2.5 hours — a testament to how relaxed we felt. Tracey, the host, truly went above and beyond with thoughtful little touches that made the place feel so homely. The variety provided was amazing — from an assortment of creams, shampoos, and conditioners in the bathroom to a delightful breakfast selection of cereals, teas, marmalades, and more. Every detail seemed carefully considered, and it made us feel so welcome. Although we didn’t use it, the grill available for guests is a fantastic option for sunny days. Unfortunately, we had cloudy weather, but it didn’t dampen our experience. Instead, we cozied up in the bedroom and watched Netflix on the smart TV, which allowed us to log into our own account. We can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone passing through Te Anau. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and hospitality — we couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

Sensational location which justifies the price tag. Breakfasts delivered to the room are outstanding and do check out the locally sourced food in the restaurants. Top notch and we will definitely be planning a return trip.
Amazing style in the villa, showers were large and great water pressure room was warm in peak winter and very clean. Restaurant was a highlight! Dinner and drinks were superb!
Our room was really comfortable, clean and private. Flexible self late check-in, instructions were clear and welcoming. The room was warm when we arrive late at night and the little kitchen covered everything necessary. Location was superb and the staff kind and friendly.
Would totally recommend luxury on howden for staying in TeAnau ,Tracy is a superb host .
Hannah is an amazing host. Attention to detail superb, felt very homely but luxurious
Everything about this property was just fantastic, the bed was so comfortable, the cleaning was impeccable, there was everything I needed including lovely towels, bathroom necessities, good water pressure in the shower, tea & coffee facilities, armchairs on the terrace to sit in the sunshine, I could go on and on. Really happy I stayed here and would absolutely recommend, not many places in Te Anau are very up to date but this was a real treat for the area and should get 5 stars.
5 star personal treatment by captain and crew on a superb vessel. In depth knowledge of the Sound and history.Superb food with the bonus of freshly caught lobster expertly prepared free of charge. A great experience.
If I could give it 10/5 stars, I would. This is probably the best accommodation I’ve stayed in for 3 weeks. The cottage is serene, the hospitality by Ian & Sally was great (they provided 6 free range eggs, complimentary) and the place was so comfortable, spacious and clean. Ducks, birds and even rabbits can be seen (if you’re quick enough!). The views was majestic and I wished I stayed at this place longer than just two nights.
Property was clean. Towels were on a heated rack and were soft and fluffy . Spa bath was an added bonus and high quality toiletries too. There was a cooktop, microwave and kitchen utensils. it’s a motel so cannot be 5 stars but as a motel was good. Staff were fantastic. only negative was the bed was very soft and not overly comfortable.
