We spent twelve nights, from November 24 to December 5, 2024, and we felt very comfortable, especially because we come to New York every year and have quite a bit of experience with hotels of this kind. The location is exceptional, just a few meters from the subway, and situated in a fairly central area like Chelsea, in the Flower District, it allows you to move around the city quickly and comfortably. The cleanliness of the rooms has been the best we’ve experienced in recent years—and there have been quite a few—so I would like to give special recognition to the staff at TownePlace for the excellent work they do, their dedication, and the care they put into their work. Regarding the problem with elevator waits that is frequently mentioned in reviews, as well as the issue with breakfast (included), we didn’t experience it. Not because it doesn’t exist—it does—but because we neutralized it by requesting a room on the lowest floor possible (we got the third floor), which allowed us to take the stairs up and down every day, avoiding waits. As for breakfast, on the first day, we went down to confirm that, indeed, there are endless lines, both to eat in the tiny dining room and to bring food up to the rooms. So, we simply went to nearby supermarkets to buy our own breakfast for the rest of the days, effectively neutralizing that problem as well. I think it’s a mistake to advertise breakfast as included in the price when it’s completely unfeasible and practically impossible to enjoy. Obviously, when on vacation, you don’t want to wake up at six in the morning to have breakfast, since that’s what we do every other day of the year. But even if you wake up early, having people standing next to your table, waiting in line, is not appropriate. If this same breakfast were charged at a reasonable price, it would be much better for both the hotel and the guests.

Great location and very modern

Location is excellent. Walking distance to Time Square, many restaurants and subway station 42nd. Staff were very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable with cooking possibility(including microwave, dishwasher, hob and fridge). Breakfast was great, but the sitting area is very limited.

The hotel is fantastic, staff very friendly, location the best, metro station is 2 min outside the hotel. Also there is a shop next door where u can buy food very convinient. Parking available nearby for 25$ per day, which the guy at the reception suggested me. Hotel is very clean. I would absolutely come back if I would go to New York again.

A very cosy hotel with a fantastic location (Brodway and the 54th street). It was close to the 7th Avenue, central park and Times square, with lots of theatres, shopping and dining places around. Very helpful staff, front desk personnel made chick in and out as fast and as easy as it gets. The room was spacious, very comfortable with one of the most stunning views (ours was a corner room in the 31th floor, with a view on Broadway and a distant one on the Hudson). Elevators were fast and their number was satisfactory.
