beautiful traditional Japanese Hotel, with everything you would have expected from Japanese culture, interior rice paper walls, low table and chairs, comfortable mattress on floor, separate sex public baths. lovely setting with great views of Miyo Jima Island. Very spacious room and comfortable bed. Lots of freebies in the room including tea and coffee. Olsen had a great view across the bay. Lounge with complimentary cold and hot drinks and ice cream. Location is fight next to the ferry and the town. Perfect hotel.

Amazing experience in a very nice Ryokan! The building itself is amazing, very close the the main interest points. All the staff is simply wonderful, they will do their best to make you feel at home. Last but not least, the food: I highly recommend to eat both dinner and breakfast at the ryokan: one of the best foods tried in Japan!

The room was very clean, spacious by Japanese standards, and offered serene traditional atmosphere blended seamlessly with modern conforms. There was a terrace with a beautiful view adding on to the comfort of the room. The dinner was traditional Japanese-style and for sure it should not be missed! The multi-course kaiseki meal was beautifully presented and very delicious, including fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. The hotel's location is good for visiting the Itsukushima Torii (Water gate) as it is just one station away from it but at the same time away from the madness of the island.

A hotel that feels like a 5* resort in a stunning setting. I have loved every single second at Aki Grand Hotel : service was kind and personalised, room was clean, comfortable and with a beautiful view over the sea and the giant tori, dinner and breakfast were very good too. I was impressed by the different onsen in the hotel, but completely mesmerised by the private onsen. I strongly recommend anyone coming to this hotel to book it for a little extra, because it might be one of the highlight of your trip! I had also booked a night cruise, and the boat brings you very close to the tori which I found magical. I didn't use the outdoor pool but it looks fun and was busy yet not too crowded. It opens from mid-July until end of August, until 5pm, no cap needed. The hotel is sophisticated but has a delightful relaxing family feeling so that you directly feel at ease. My only regret was that, due to obon holidays, I couldn't book more than one night. I would 100% come back for longer in a future trip.
