The hotel is a great base to explore Kumano Kodo. Location is excellent - at the heart of Kumano Kodo, near Hongu, right on the main bus line, great for hikes. The hotel has very nice Japanese style family rooms, with great views of nature. Dinner (kaiseki - tasting style) was fantastic and very good value for money. Breakfast also rich (you can choose Japanese and western). Bonus - the hotel also has own "onsen" - Japanese hot bath, including two private family rooms and two big open air bath. Using the onsen is included in the room price. Moreover, staff is very helpful, speak solid English and will take you to with a shuttle to a better bust stop for the ride to the Kumano Kodo trek.

Set in Hongu and only 14 km from Hosshinmon Oji Shrine, Ryokan Adumaya offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking.

An amazing Royakan for a sleepover on Kumano Kodo trail. We came soaked in rain and the staff welcomed us offering shoe warmers and their all in all hospitality. The food was very delicious and the onsen a great pleasure after a day of hikomg

Amazing public and private onsen. Beautiful and clean room. Kind and friendly staff. Would highly recommend staying here.

Location is uniqe and the onsen outside is divine, the whole hotel has its own traditional vibe. rooms are really big and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner had a lot of variety and was good. The staff was really really nice and recommended us a trail and we even used their shuttle service. The best part was that we could extend our stay for one more night

Stunning location right next to the onsen and river. Delicious food. Owner Kohei was really friendly, helpful and welcoming. He speaks English which is not a given so that was extremely appreciated - the other guests while we were there were all Japanese. We'd love to come again!
