It’s a traditional Japanese hotel. The building itself dates back to more than 100 years ago but is well-kept. The staff, especially Izumi-san and the hostess at the restaurant (forgot to ask for her name) made sure my stay will be delightful. It’s not displayed here but they do have exceptional kaiseki dinner. I’m not exaggerating but it’s probably the best dinner I’ve ever had. Breakfast was also good but the dinner really was the highlight for me. You can also leave your bags until 1 pm after your checkout and can enjoy shuttle services going around town.

Traditional ryokan with small onsen as part of the hotel. They are private onsen, so you can go there as a couple / family. Definitely recommend to book the dinner even if it seems bit expensive. It is worth it! Best experience we had in Japan.

The shared onsen and bath is beautiful (much nicer than the private onsen). The view over the trees and the windows that slide open were superb, and made our stay because we could enjoy the rain from inside the room. It was good to experience a Ryokan and traditional Kaiseki dinner in our room. Arima Onsen is a lovely village to walk through and try the different foods. The foot bath in the main street was a highlight, even though it was almost too hot at 42 degrees!

Gorgeous ryokan with good onsens. It was my first traditional Japanese hotel and onsen, so I was very impressed by hospitality, kaiseki dinner, the view, the room with tatami, yukata and hot springs. Totally recommend it!
