Best Accommodation we had in Japan. Location is great, 5 min walk to the Train and all the Shops. The staff are so accommodating and dressed in their kimono's looked amazing. The room, although on the small side, (which is very typical in Japan) was very nice and comfortable. The onsen was lovely after a long day out walking (so out of my comfort zone going into the onsen naked - seperate men and womens by the way) but the best feature is the rooftop bar with the foot bath! The water was so warm and soothing. We also were given a free drink each night during happy hour. They provide large warm jackets to sit outside on the Rooftop. Free Hot Drinks and Soda machine and Icecreams and iceblocks.

The property was outstanding. Would definitely stay here again. Great location. Less than 5 min walk to Nijo castle. The public onsen was absolutely lovely. Very luxurious and a fabulous facility to relax in after a busy day sight-seeing.

My Brother and I were Here for 1 night and it was very relaxing. You can get to the sights nearby by feet and this ryokan can be easily accessed cheaply by Bus. We were lucky that we also booked Dinner and breakfast. It was the best food we Had in 2 weeks of staying in Japan and the price was more then fair.

We had a wonderful stay at Togetsutei. Our suite was even better than expected — modern and new, yet still keeping the traditional ryokan charm. The location is perfect for exploring Kyoto, and the entire property is clean and well maintained. Service was excellent, and the kaiseki dinner gave us a truly authentic Japanese experience. Although the price is higher than a typical hotel, we felt it was worth every yen and would happily book again. Our room was exactly like the pictures on the website. Tip: make sure to reserve your dinner before arriving.
