Excellent stay here in Takayama with an onsen on the rooftop, felt very private at 6am, had it all to myself. The toiletries were luxurious and it felt really good to be pampered.

Everything was simply perfect. The staff were amazing and extremely friendly! The rooms are spacious and while a bit dated, they are clean and very cozy. Being able to book a private hot bath was also very welcome. It is only a few minutes away from the Train/Bus station, but as soon as you enter the domain of the hotel, it feels as if you step from the city straight into an Onsen town. Unfortunately we only stayed for one night.

the room was awesome, the onsen was nice, especially the onsen outside the room, inside the room not so hot, could be hotter. Room is very spacious, comfy, a lot of amenities.

Warm welcome from all the staff offering us green tea when we arrived. Lovely traditional ryokan experience. Very nice onsen too. Delicious breakfast, lovely staff presenting everything to us.

Featuring free bikes, garden and views of mountain, Tajimi Guest House is located in Tajimi, 33 km from Oasis 21. A hot spring bath is available for guests.

We had a great stay in this little ryokan run by a friendly old lady who goes out of her way to make travellers feel welcome. It's an old house with an outdoor hot spring (we had the place to ourselves!). In the evening you can have dinner in the house (various options). The breakfast was excellent. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for an authentic experience in the area. You might need a car if you want to reach the ryokan easily.
