Staffs are nice and friendly; no problem with English communication. Our room was good with a private onsen in the room. In addition, this hotel has three private onsens (free use) 24 hrs. Free tea and coffee. 10 mins walking distance from the main bus station. This hotel has a shuttle bus, between the bus station and the hotel.

Breakfast and dinner was superb. The experience and the food was wonderful. The room was comfortable, especially with the private onsen bath. Everything was really clean. Some staffs spoke english, which was a good bonus. There was a shuttle service, which was really appreciated. The communication was perfect.

Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso exceeded all expectations I had. You feel the essence of the region incorporated here, and the iconic red bridge is a spectacle to behold no matter the time of day. The private onsen bath in my room was spectucalar and was exactly what I needed after nearly 2 weeks of non-stop travelling across Japan. A truly mindblowing experience staying here.

Chojukan has excellent quality water, at perfect temperature. The outside onsen mostly operates as women-only (men only before 7 am). The rooms in the old building are small but well maintained, and the sink is inside (toilet outside). Meals are simple, executed very nicely. In sum, the waters are the main attraction.

We liked everything about Bettei Senjyuan!! It was simply stunning. You can check in from 1pm and we would highly recommend you do. The property was aesthetically beautiful and the luxury touches made this fairly expensive stay completely value for money. The onsen - private and public - were amazing. And the food was a feast in every way.

Boasting mountain views, Shima Onsen Kashiwaya Ryokan provides accommodation with an open-air bath, free bikes and a terrace, around 34 km from Ishidan-gai Steps.

This was one of the most special stays on our trip. The traditional rooms were lovely and the food was really good. The highlight was the private onsen, and snow in the morning making the experience even more magical. I would absolutely return.
