The hotel is absolutely amazing. I am travelling the world woth my son and this trip was the best we ever had. We ended up staying longer. The host is amazing. She keeps in touch by wechat and she answered all our requests. She made our stay so much easier! The room is really spacious with comfy beds. The view is outstanding. I miss my mornings, when I just stared out of the window on the ancient city rooftops. The location is great- very centrally located yet you just make 1 turn from the buzzlin street and it's absolutely quiet. We had best nights there. Also during the whole stay i never locked the room and we were out till late. This is how safe it is. Priceless. I am the host myself and usually approach the hotels with high demands, but this time there was nothing to complain about. I purely enjoyed everything.

The hospitality and care for the wellness of their guests go beyond expectations and anything I have ever experienced in a hotel. From the first moment of walking through the doors and being greeted by May and HeiMi (the cat), I felt the warmness of stepping foot into Bivou-instantly, I was at a place that felt like home. Right when we stepped through the threshold, we were offered homemade bread (that I could still taste even now) and some delicious apple tea. The ayis (aunties) helped move our heavy luggage into the beautiful room, and spent time introducing the activities in the hotel, activities we could do around Lijiang, and different hikes that we could go on. Our room was so COMFORTABLE - high ceilings, spacious bathroom with a rain shower, clean and woodsy interior, and firm beds with warming mats. The welcome package included lotion, lip balm, and the most comprehensive maps of Lijiang, as well as a binder filled with activities to do. The activities weren't your typical "tourist" activities but they were incredibly curated, local gems like biking to Baishi village and going to see the Naxi orchestra (Nomi helped booked for us! Thank you!). The owner of Bivou is so fun and helpful - she gave us a map for Tiger Leaping Gorge and even helped us arrange a hotel on the trail! For a lot of my stay in Lijiang, I was sick (some food poisoning), but the ayis, especially May, kept me alive - not even exaggerating. They went out of their way to cook porridge for me, recommended and brewed red tea for my stomach ache, delivered homemade soup and dumplings up to the room, and changed the bed sheets at midnight for us. The Bivou cafe was the ONLY place I trusted to eat at because I wasn't feeling well. The food is so healthy, fresh, homecooked with love, and absolutely healing. Bivou is not your typical boutique hotel, not the Banyan, nor the Four Seasons.

The homestay owners were exceptionally friendly and attentive. They even helped us to secure the best seats for the Lijiang Eternal Love show and arranged our return airport transportation seamlessly. They also shared many engaging hosting experiences and speacialty of Yunnan tea. Now my kids are still missing the koi feeding sessions. The warm and nourishing breakfast was especially comforting on a winter morning and truly touched our hearts. They have maintained the facilities so well. We would highly recommend this homestay to others.

This hotel is absolutely splendid. It occupies an area as large as a neighbourhood. It's right within Lijiang Ancient Town, possibly the most beautiful old town in China. There's a main building with the lobby, the restaurants, the cafe and the spa but the rooms are scattered around the property is small pavilions. I got a free upgrade to a Premium Room which was the most beautifully decorated hotel room I've ever had. The room was spacious, very quiet and had everything I needed. I felt that the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. There was a bathtub and a shower in the room. A room of this quality would cost around 1800 € in Europe. The choice at breakfast was huge. Overall this is a luxury hotel, well above the average of the worldwide five-star standards, yet you would need to pay considerably more for this quality almost anywhere in the world.

I didn't expect this price and quality to surprise me. It's really nice. We booked a duplex room because some children were afraid of noise. The next day, we renewed the room and switched to a king size room. The store upgraded the room very well and we were very satisfied with the first experience. It's really a great place to relax. In the future, there is a parking space right at the entrance that is very convenient and comfortable from the moment we enter. The environment was given 5 points!

The location is not bad, you can see the ancient city, but there are too few parking spaces. Finally, I parked in a toll booth on the roadside. The boss said that the license plates from other places are not a problem, so I just parked there. I came too late that night and didn't have a large bed room. I changed to a suite, which was quite large. When I opened the door, I was stunned. The next day, I continued to stay and changed to a viewing room, which was very good

We stayed at Bivou for 3 nights at December. Position was perfect. Car parking 300 m. Room floor heated. Restaurant and breakfast superb. Hotel staff was nice and helpful.
