Friendly welcome; HUGE and comfortable bed, very clean and quiet, and a good shower. We emailed ahead to ask for a ground floor room (as we had our dog with us), and they arranged that for us. Five minute drive to the central square of La Ferté-Bernard where we had a lovely meal.

Quiet location. Beautiful gardens. The breakfast was plentiful, fresh and very enjoyable. Croissants, pain au chocolate, jams, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, bread. Excellent garage parking for a motorbike. Lisa was lovely and we managed with our Franglais!

The Manoir, including the Cidrerie studio where we stayed, is unique and full of interesting items and great charm.  The welcome both we and our dog received was warm and relaxed.  Our dog even managed to find some lovely new friends and would happily have stayed longer - as would her humans!    In addition to the secure gardens of the Manoir itself, there's a nice park close by with a beautiful lake to stroll around.  The kitchen facilities in the apartment are simple, but they're perfectly sufficient for a stopover and there are opportunities to dine out in the area.  The village has a boulangerie nearby for breakfast goodies and our host supplied us with delicious homemade jams as well as teas and coffee.   Our four-poster bed was very comfortable and the shower room (complete with "talking" water heater!) was lovely.  Having access to a little terrace overlooking the garden (and also access to the main house, had we wanted it) was great.  We found the whole place delightful and we especially loved the sounds of the birds.  The Manoir is a very personal space, but that's what makes it so special!  Being able to safely park our car within the grounds was also much appreciated.  We would be very happy to stay again.  Merci beaucoup!
