We had a wonderful stay at Sun Breeze, with our 3 young children. Umberto & his wife are really friendly , welcoming & helpful. They made our stay very enjoyable & comfortable. The beds are great & the outdoor shared kitchen & dining area are good for preparing meals. I would recommend staying here.

The whole property is so well maintained, absolutely stunning location. Staff were exceptional. Food was delicious. Extremely clean and had an amazing stay. Will definitely come back!

I can recommend to stay in El Remate when you are going to Tikal (I prefer it to Flores). And Hotel Mon Ami is a very good choice where to stay.

On the main street but fairly quiet and calm. Amazing rooms, and really good price.

Ruina Maya is set in El Remate. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and Tikal National Park is 34 km away. The accommodation is non-smoking. Mundo Maya International Airport is 26 km away.

Attentive and friendly staff Clean room comfy beds. A bench and table in the room with a hammock and rocking chair on the veranda. No fridge but free supply of chilled water from a dispenser a few steps away. Altogether a quaint, interesting hotel, really enjoyed our stay.  We enjoy the breakfast and dinner in the open air restaurant also with a lake view. Tasty and not overly expensive meals whilst watching lots of different birds on the feeders just feet away . Beautifully laid out garden with the ability to eat and drink on a terrace with a magnificent view of the lake built at the bottom serviced by a zip wire dumb waiter. One of the days we caught the 5:30 bus from outside Gardinier up on the main road (1 minute walk) the other day we walked down to the lake road to the nature reserve. Saw close too 3 groups of spider monkeys a beautiful pale billed woodpecker hard at work. A little toad hopping across the path and a couple of large blue winged butterflies. It was very hot and required more water than we took and don't go without a stout pair of boots/shoes. Quite a strenuous hike for oldies like us.  We feel if you are visiting Tikal this is a much better option than staying in Flores that we went on to stay at subsequently

Great spot, very chill vibes and super helpful information for continuing our travels. Also amazing drinks at the bar! Would love to come back again when the lake is less full and the beach is more accessible. El Remate is a gem and so nice to stay here rather than transiting back to flores after visiting tikal and before moving eastward to Belize.
