We loved the cabin and its surroundings. It's secluded enough to feel isolated, yet a five-minute drive from the grocery store, gas station, etc. It was clean and all the appliances were in perfect working order. We cooked dinner and enjoyed the quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

This was our favorite stay while we were in Iceland. When we booked we didn't have many reviews to go off of. When we got there it exceeded our expectations. The staff was accommodating, our room didn't have knives to cut with and our host provided them right away. We had no trouble using anything, everything was clean. We even saw the northern lights from right where we parked the car. I will say the best part was the heated floors in the bathroom! Again I could not say enough amazing things about this place.

Beautifully located in a forest area by Lake Lagarfljot, 25 km south of Egilsstadir, is the Hotel Hallormsstadur, close to hiking trails and various recreational opportunities.

The place is definitely a piece of gem, it was beautiful, location is close to egil nearby city for supplies and really quiet. It was also by the lake and you could sit by the full window and relax at the end of the day, recommend to check in slightly before sunset to enjoy a glass of wine to relax before heading for dinner.

Really nice cottage on the lake off the main road. The location is very quiet. We had an issue with the shower that I messaged the host and someone was knocking at the door to fix it within 15 minutes in the middle of a snow storm at 8:30pm so that was really amazing. There was also oil and salt & pepper we used for cooking which most places don’t provide. The man that came to fix our shower also came in the mornings to shovel the snow off the porch and make a pathway to our car. Highly recommend this place !
