We stayed one night in this family run hotel. We wish we had stayed more. We were treated like special friends, as we noted were other guests. We stayed in a suite which had heaps of room, very comfortable bed, a large comfortable sofa, and superb silent heating/air-conditioning. Everything was sparkling clean and well maintained. Even with all that, the best aspects were the superb fixed price dinner and breakfast buffet which were the best we had in Jordan.

The Black Iris is a lovely, friendly hotel located in a quiet part of Madaba yet close to all of the attractions and restaurants. The staff is exceptional, extremely communicative and going the 'extra-mile' to make sure you are comfortable and need to get where you are going. They arranged for me both an airport pickup and a transfer to the Allenby Bridge - wonderful drivers who took the stress out of travel!

I stayed in Madaba for a night before heading to Amman Queen Alia International airport for my flight back home. I booked a quadruple room and a triple room for my family for one night. I had read good reviews for this hotel on trip advisor and since this hotel is closer to the airport than downtown Amman, I decided to book this hotel I was pleasantly surprised with everything at the hotel. The interiors, level of cleanliness and the well appointed rooms are all a steal at the price I got it. The staff at the front desk were also very courteous and were extremely helpful with every small request or query that I had. Around the hotel are plenty of food options, grocery stores and even a mall which made our stay in Madaba extremely comfortable. I would definitely recommend this property for anyone who wants to stay away from the hustle of a big city and have a good stay at a very reasonable price point.

We had a wonderful one-night stay at this guesthouse. The room was well-equipped, very clean, and the air conditioning kept us warm and cozy. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and well-balanced. Of course, what we loved the most was the presence of Coco, the real master of the house—such an adorable dog! Carmen is a kind and honest host, and the location is great, not far from the city center. We highly recommend it!

A great hotel in Madaba, close to the city center, but also not too close (10min walk), you can easily access it with car, and the best, they have an own parking place. The breakfast was traditional humus, vegetables, halva and loved the falafel option. The receptionists were nice, and had a great offer to the Dead sea.

From the moment we arrived, the host made us feel incredibly welcome - friendly, attentive, and always available with helpful advice, local tips, and thoughtful recommendations. What really sets this place apart is the personalized approach to hospitality. Nothing is too much trouble; the host goes above and beyond to ensure every guest’s needs are met, adjusting everything with a smile. Communication was seamless and prompt via WhatsApp, with responses that were clear, helpful, and almost immediate. The breakfast was another highlight - homemade, delicious, and prepared with care. The facilities themselves are beautifully maintained and very comfortable, creating a cozy atmosphere that made our stay even more enjoyable. Located in the heart of Madaba, the hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the city. The host’s connections and local knowledge also enhanced our experience with excellent recommendations for shopping, dining, and sightseeing. This place is a hidden gem! A small, family run hostel with a cordiale welcome from the owner who lives nextdoor. We had a beautiful, very clean, very comfortable and , yes, homey room. It had everything you would want, including coffee, tea and water, even fruit was awaiting us. The location is GREAT. In the vibrant centre, so close to restaurants, and the famous church and at the same time our room was facing the backyard and very quiet. A perfect combination. The car could be parked in front of the hostel. Yes on the street, but for the peace of mind of his customers, the landlord has a survey camera. We did not really worry about this as we have experienced the people in this country very mellow and friendly. The next day we left for the airport, which was an easy ride (20 minutes) without traffic jams.
