The room was so neat and nice. It was more than I expected. I could enjoy the hot spring up close when I wanted it, and the dinner and breakfast were excellent. I felt good throughout the trip because the staff were very kind.

I’m only now writing a review for Shiori place, however this was my first introduction to Japan, and one of our favourite experiences of our whole 2 month trip throughout the country. Not only is she the perfect host, super attentive, open, friendly unbelievably giving , but she went above and beyond what one could ask for from a stranger. After one night we extended our stay and she took us on a tour around the town, to museums, shrines, the beach and we shared several meals together, all of which only made us sadder to leave her. The house is beautiful, has everything you could want from a guesthouse and the traditional interior decoration of Japanese homes. We hope we have formed a friendship for a long time to come and we will never forgot our wonderful stay with her. Please do not hesitate to book, even if it is for a short stay, you won’t regret it. It’s a great place to stay if you want a cheap place. Stay in a traditional Japanese house with good facilities. What makes it great is the lady who runs its. She is a really lovely woman who made me feel comfy able and welcome. Talking to her about her interesting life and stories was great

A lovely historic house with great ambience. It is spacious and well furnished with different antique items, very interesting and a great way to get a taste of the local Japanese lifestyle. Maiko was super nice and responsive, she welcomed us at the carpark and gave a house tour to help us settle.
