The location of the property is within walking distance to the attraction places. Unless you have car, 10 to 20 minutes walking distance is acceptable. The property itself is well equipped and you just bring in your stuff and can stay there for a short break like your home. The owner also displays promotion materials about the local environs which suitable for new comer like us in the local community. The property is a quiet place. Having said that, depends on your requirement of "quiet", the property is adjoining to a main county road which means cars are passing through day and night, though not frequent. The owner is a nice gentleman and willing at all time to give you a helping hand in providing advices in the local community such as traveling, dining and sight seeing. To a traveler, a clean, comfort and safe place to stay is essential to release of uncertainty. The property and the owner do this well.

Our stay in Tamba-Sasayama was absolutely magical. The house itself was a masterpiece — traditional on the outside, yet elegant and modern inside. The highlight was definitely the bathroom: a stone bath that felt like a private spa carved into the heart of Japan. Sitting in warm water surrounded by smooth stone after exploring the old town was simply unforgettable. Tamba-Sasayama itself is an incredible hidden gem — full of beautifully preserved old houses, narrow streets, and deep history. Visiting the castle and the former Samurai residence gave us a real sense of Japan’s past. The whole town has a quiet, timeless atmosphere that makes you feel completely at peace. It was the perfect combination of culture, comfort, and authenticity. We would come back in a heartbeat.

If you speak some Japanese, at this place you can chill like there is no tomorrow! A whole house with all the historical things (tatami, paper walls, you know), while the utilities are modern: good wooden automated bathtub, very good kitchen, even a vinyl player! The staff is friendly and helpful with my requests. The place is in the middle of nowhere, so you get yourself a scenery of Japanese small town you wanted to attend (think Non Non Biyori type of scenery).

We had a short but sweet stay at Furumaya House, the Japanese home cooking by Sayaka-san is absolutely delicious, the hamburger steak is to die for. The rice is home grown and the other ingredients are locally sourced. We also really enjoyed the home made umeju, must try if you visit! If you are looking for a homey/cozy place to stay with great home cooking look no where else. Would definitely come and stay again to experience the area in depth next time!
