Shin-San was is the best host I met in a long time. Super interesting conversations and nice recommendations. As a fan of motorcycles and bears, this place was paradise! I did not spend too much time in Mataki as I had a JR pass and was traveling around but I will Matakitai soon ! Thank you again Shin!

The hotel staff were all very helpful and welcoming. The dinner with abalone and oyster was among the best I have ever had. Lots of food at the breakfast buffet. I especially loved the croissant, olive ciabatta and cranberry pecan bread with Hokkaido butter. I also loved the organic coffee, sweet cherry tomatoes and onsen egg. It was my first time soaking in an onsen with beautiful sea view. A short walk from the hotel, the Jinja Coffee place was lovely.
