Hosts were incredibly kind and hospitable. Despite a language barrier, they asked us what our plans were, whether we needed breakfast or a packed lunch, and they made sure we had the necessary information to plan our trek out to Jōmon Sugi. They also provided tea upon our arrival!

There was a shoe dryer and a melody device near the toilet for the privacy. It also had a massaging device and the shared laundry was free of charge. The blankets were warm. There was a shared room with vending machines for drinks and one machine for quick meals. It had microwave and a toaster. The host was friendly and they let us check in 1 hour earlier. Towels were provided for each day of our stay, also toothbrushes with a tiny paste, hygiene products and sponges. The bathroom was awesome and I loved the body soap, shampoo, and a conditioner that was provided. It was easy to find the facility from the road, as it has clear signs of where to turn. A large grocery store Ban Chan was 4 minutes drive away.

The cosy, family feel of the place made my stay in Yakushima. The lady running the place was so nice and she prepared Onigiri for guests who had planned hikes on the island, which was really convenient. She also plans your sightseeing with you if you want, as she knows the bus schedules and the different things to see quite well. Met some really nice people at the guest house and shared an amazing hot pot on the last night. Tomarigi made my stay in Yakushima. Also, theres a supermarket about 5 minutes away by foot, which was really convenient.

Spent 4 nights here, using it as a base to explore Yakushima. We were really torn between sightseeing and enjoying the facilities. The staff are very attentive and helpful - dealt with a flat tyre on the hire car as we were leaving in less than 10 minutes. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, the food very good and facilities are excellent. Very happy to use the free guest laundry to wash dirty walking clothes - it does rain a bit on the island.

A spacious house with convenient access to many Yakushima hikes and sights, especially if traveling by car. Highly responsive and kind communication. The kitchen was very well equipped with a wide range of cooking utensils and basics (oil, salt) that made it easy to prepare meals. Felt like home immediately!
