This property has amazing views, so clean and beautiful. The best thing about this place though is the family, I will never forget how warm hearted they were and instantly felt like they cared for me. We chatted a lot, and we all ate together in the evenings, easily will be one of my most cherished memories in Sri Lanka. You have to stay here!! Kindest people ever.

We had an incredible two-night stay with our family at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect! They generously upgraded our room free of charge, which made our experience even more special. The buffet for both breakfast and dinner offered a delightful mix of international and local cuisine, catering to all tastes. The rooftop pool was absolutely breathtaking, offering a mesmerizing and picturesque view that left us in awe. If you want to be outside the city center in a nice quiet garden, then this is the place to be. Owner Udaya helps you were he can. Such a nice man! Unfortunately I only got to stay 1 night because it was sold out the next day. Otherwise I would have stayed longer for sure! He made sure I got on a good bus to Dambulla with a free transfer! Also gave me some delicious fruit. The terrace was so nice to sit and relax. If I ever come back to Kandy I will stay here again. Women's dorm is very spacious!

10/10 stay. From the moment we arrived we were so warmly welcomed by Hemaka with a cake and iced coffee, we knew we would enjoy our stay. He made sure our entire stay was seamless and helped in every aspect possible. The room was large and had incredible views over Kandy and the hills. The water filter is a big win if you run out of drinking water. And the pool is the perfect temperate and so scenic. 5 minute walk down the hill to Hideout cafe - delicious breakfast or lunch. A massive thank you to Hemaka again for making our stay in Kandy so pleasant.

Someone on here described this place as a piece of heaven and that pretty much sums it up (and I'm not a religious man). I ended up extending my reservation for an extra night as I couldn't miss the chance to stay another day. I requested the room furthest down the hill and, yes, there are stairs to get down there (not that many really), but how else would one expect to get down a hill? 🧐 This also meant the cabin felt secluded and the view had an uninterrupted jungle-y vibe. Both mornings I sat on my balcony as a baby monkey scrambled and launched wildly towards birds high in the treetops - its family just lounged unbothered as the sun peered over the smokey mountains - no helicopter parenting in the monkey world! The pool is stunning (rooms up here would have a similarly stunning view). I swam each morning and again in the afternoon upon my return after a day of exploring Kandy. Don't let the distance to central Kandy throw you off - Tuk Tuks are super fun and there's so much on the journey to stimulate the senses (dodging bigass cattle and the like) and you won't be needing to back-and-forth to town regardless. Staff were super kind and accomodating and the curry for dinner and egg hoppers for brekkie were the real deal. How's the rest of my trip going to match this? Would stay again no question.

Sudesh and his family truly embody what hospitality is all about! 🙌 Our first stop in Sri Lanka was Kandy, and I remember calling my family back home to rave about how amazing our host was. From the moment we arrived, Sudesh and his family made us feel incredibly welcome. They were always there for us—whether it was arranging a tuk-tuk (sometimes even for free if someone else was going in the same direction), offering great recommendations, or treating us to a delicious spread of authentic Sri Lankan dishes. Communication was always easy and fast, and Sudesh was available by text or phone call anytime, which really made us feel safe and at ease. The room was so comfortable, the washroom spotless, and the air conditioning worked perfectly—everything was just spot on. But let me tell you about the food! If you stay with Sudesh, *do not* miss the lunch! I can't stress this enough—it was honestly the best meal I've ever had, and I might have gone into a food coma afterward. Sudesh’s mom went above and beyond, making extra dishes just for us, and they were so excited to share their cooking. It felt like visiting family who are eager to spoil you with their best recipes. The complimentary breakfast was also incredible—I've never seen such a generous spread! Unfortunately, we were only able to stay for one night, and I really wish we could have extended our time there. I absolutely recommend staying here if you're in Kandy. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and you'll be taken care of by some of the kindest hosts you could ask for. 100% would stay again!
