We had the pleasure to spend two nights at the Barahi jungle lodge on the banks of East Rapti River in Nepal. Already at Bharatpur airport we were welcomed by the lodge‘s pick-up service in person of most amiable Rajesh, who should turn out to be our naturalist guide for the whole stay. The Head-manager himself gave us a warm welcome and introduction into the lodge. We were impressed by the careful sustainability efforts in combination with a five star accomodation with all modern facilities close to the jungle. The staff was most caring, polite and attentive in all functions. The highlights of course were the Jeep Safari, Jungle walk and boat safari in the early morning in the park. Across the shallow Rapti river pick-up point is reached with a boat directly from the lodge. Safar jeeps wating for half or full-day trips. Driver and our guide Rajesh did a terrific job in showing vegetation and all wildlife Chitwan had to offer on that day including a stylish jungle tea/coffee with pastry. Deer, boars, bears, rhinos, monkeys, elefants are just the bigger animals, not speaking of peacocks and many other exotic birds. Safety was always key and we felt always secure and in best hands, either on the car or by foot during jungle walk. Both activities give a very good impression of the park‘s environment. Arriving from the trip with dust and sweat Barahi staff was waiting with refreshment towels and fresh water. A boat trip in the early morning on the calm Rapti river gave wonderful sight on birdlife and bigger animals crossing or bathing in the river. Dinner followed after a presentation of regional cultural dance with excellent cuisine listening to the sounds of the jungle by the pool. Coffee, tea, water was complementary all time with high-speed WiFi. Our bungalow met all expectations with enormous comfort. Wow, this was Nepali hospitality at its best.

I had an amazing stay here. I felt immediately at home. It’s such a nice place to relax, be in nature and spend time with amazing people. Hari is an AMAZING host, he is very kind and makes you feel so welcome in Chitwan. ☀️ I did the full day safari and we saw lots of animals up close, including 2 bears!! Hari knows the jungle so well so we had lunch at an amazing view point. As well as a the safari, I loved the yoga class, jungle walks and beautiful sunsets. 🌅 I extended my stay and was very sad to leave. So I would recommend this homestay to anyone interested in a relaxing jungle visit! Thank you Hari!

This is the best guesthouse I have ever been to. Manoj and his family are adorable. The food is great, the room is cosy and i loved my walking safari in the jungle where I could spot many animals. I felt like at home and wish i extented my stay because it was so relaxing ;)

Great service, attention to detail.

we liked everything about the property. it was a tranquil oasis and a much needed break from city life. the staff are absolutely incredible, so attentive and they showed us such kindness and made us feel very at home. we went on a jeep safari with some of the staff and had a fantastic time, even though we didn’t see a tiger, we still saw lots of incredible jungle wildlife and it was a dream to be that immersed in nature. food is exceptional, all very fresh and the chefs and serving staff are all really lovely.

We had a really nice stay at Chital Lodge. We could arrange a transfer from Bharatpur airport to the lodge and from Chitwan to Pokhara and had a warm welcome from Bishnu and his family. We experienced some really lovely freshly made meals. Bishnu also took us on several safari’s which was really fun!!

Amasing views of the national park from the balcony room. We saw deer every morning while in bed! Service was very friendly, food was excrllent i recommend this hotel!

Excellent facilities throughout - an oasis in the jungle ! Very friendly staff and excellent food. Safaris and boat trips easily arranged with very good guides.

Lovely resort, nice staff, great location just beside the river, fair breakfast, yummy dinner, clean, big and comfy rooms, amazing safari. Highly recommend!

Our two nights at Sanctuary were an exceptional experience, the facilities are even better in person, staff are highly accommodating and the food is great with lots of options available. Our guide for the activities was knowledgeable and engaging, and we were even upgraded to a villa on arrival (which was enormous!) Also, transport to and from the hotel was easy to arrange at late notice if needed.
