Hosts Stew and Lucia were both lovely people and super friendly. Room was enormous. Everything you needed and again very spacious. If you're hiking the TA, trout fishing the Kaniwhaniwha stream ir just want a lovely weekend in the country this is the place. Can't recommend enough

Coleen and her family were wonderful hosts! The room was very comfortable and the breakfast delicious! We were allowed to feed the animals, use the kitchen, there is an extra fridge for guests and a big cupboard full of games and toys. We never had problems with the shared bathroom. The staff was wonderful and thoughtful. We were sad to leave!

This is a unique and beautiful property. The attention to detail in every aspect of how the accomodation has been built and styled, including the amazing wood fired hot tub means it really lives up to its “retreat” description. We arrived quite late after an evening Hobbiton tour, but Fiona kindly waited for us and cheerfully showed us around. The apartment was absolutely amazing—beautifully decorated and well-equipped, offering all the comfort we needed after a long day. The next morning, we enjoyed our coffee while taking in the peaceful farmlands surrounding us. We only wish we had more time to stay longer.
