We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Spirit of the River Lodge! Nestled by the river, the lodge boasts incredible room designs and breathtaking window views that make you feel one with nature. A huge thank you to Rodi and Claudia for making our experience so unforgettable. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home. Rodi’s tour of the Inca sites was nothing short of extraordinary—his passion and knowledge brought the history and spirit of the area to life. If you can, ask him to be your guide; you’ll gain so much insight and connection to the Sacred Valley! Claudia’s cooking was equally remarkable—each meal was a masterpiece filled with love and flavor. And, of course, we can’t forget Tupac, their adorable and friendly llama. Hugging him was such a unique and heartwarming experience! The lodge is a perfect blend of comfort, charm, and cultural immersion. To top it off, Rodi is beginning to organize Inca Trail tours with a big focus on ensuring porters are treated with the utmost care and respect. If you’re looking to explore one of the most unique places on Earth while supporting ethical practices, this is the place to start. We couldn’t recommend Spirit of the River Lodge more highly. The owners - Helga and Romulo - are some of the most loving and helpful people I met during my travels. Even when I lost my purse and passport they did everything to help me to get it back, which I did eventually. I really liked the location, quiet and very close to nature and the ancient sites. Romulo even gave me a little tour around the sites. They also gave me a hot-water bottle every night because it was a bit cold. Two super lovely humans. Thanks so much, would definitely coming back!

Casa Agustina by far exceeded my expectations. The location is perfect, just a 5 minute walk from the Plaza Central where the cathedral and a lot of good restaurants are located. The hotel is run by a super lovely family - they helped me with everything I needed. Their recommendations were excellent and they even organized a laundry service for me. Every morning, you have a really good breakfast on the terrace. Excellent coffee and the food is made with love. Usually, I don't eat in the hotels/hostels I stayed but here I made an exception and it was super lovely to have a little chat with the family in the morning. This place also attracts other fellow travellers that are very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable, Shower and Bathroom were top. I would definitely recommend this place.

I felt blessed to have landed in this lovely home! Zuzan was there to welcome me when I arrived and when I was feeling sick from the altitude she made me tea and soup and brought it to my room. She even checked on me multiple times to see how I was feeling. She was happy to chat and give me recommendations for Cusco and the valley and I felt she truly cared to know how my trip went even after I left Cusco. I was happy with the breakfast, the private room and bathroom for the price, and the quiet sunny rooftop in the mornings. The place is a 20 min walk to the center and I would taxi back at night. If you want a homey experience, especially if you’re alone and need a bit of caretaking, I highly recommend!!!

Small modern hotel on a square about 10 minutes walk from the old town. The room was comfortable, and breakfast on the sixth floor (great views) was good. The hotel had secure underground parking for our motorbike with a lift. The staff were friendly and attentive, especially Dani on the front desk. Oh, and joy of joys, there was a kettle in the room! All in all a very pleasant experience.

Centrally located hotel within walking distance of the main areas of Cusco. Older building complete with wood panels and creaky floorboards. Giant room and bed, which was nice. Small amount of off-street parking, but not secure.

We stayed here 22 October. The hosts were so helpful. The room clean. Lovely shower and bed. Balcony with amazing views. Kettle in room (rare in Peru) and great breakfast. Also as we had won car the underground parking was great. Highly recommend as only 15 minutes walk from main square .
