We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Spirit of the River Lodge! Nestled by the river, the lodge boasts incredible room designs and breathtaking window views that make you feel one with nature. A huge thank you to Rodi and Claudia for making our experience so unforgettable. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home. Rodi’s tour of the Inca sites was nothing short of extraordinary—his passion and knowledge brought the history and spirit of the area to life. If you can, ask him to be your guide; you’ll gain so much insight and connection to the Sacred Valley! Claudia’s cooking was equally remarkable—each meal was a masterpiece filled with love and flavor. And, of course, we can’t forget Tupac, their adorable and friendly llama. Hugging him was such a unique and heartwarming experience! The lodge is a perfect blend of comfort, charm, and cultural immersion. To top it off, Rodi is beginning to organize Inca Trail tours with a big focus on ensuring porters are treated with the utmost care and respect. If you’re looking to explore one of the most unique places on Earth while supporting ethical practices, this is the place to start. We couldn’t recommend Spirit of the River Lodge more highly. The stuff was very helpful and kind. They also helped us to get a taxi and visit the Maras and Moray sites. Hotel itself is made from different small buildings and with a big garden in the middle. They also have massage, sauna and jacuzzi which we've done and it was very relaxing.

Beautiful location by the fast flowering river in the Center of the sacred valley. The hotel is set around and ancient hacienda with multiple courtyards, terraces and a museum and cinema. The gardens are perfection, the pool, lakes and island chapel all lovely. The spa is world class and the chef worthy of international recognition. And the staff……. In our experience Peruvians are the warmest and most welcoming of people and it seemed that the best of those traits were in abundance here.

The house is totally renovated...new floors,furniture, bathroom and also curtains....smells all new and that was great.. The house offers 3 bedrooms with a big shared bathroom. Spotless. The room is big.The owner lives behind and when you ring( bell at the left) they open the main door...no problem with that...just announce the arrival time for checkin. The place is 2min walk from the main plaza.and a great Peruvian restaurant. The breakfast is plenty of eggs, fruit, jogurt and bread with marmelade/ butter., coffe and the.The lady on a breakfast time speaks excellent English. The neighbourhood is so quite...it was my first all night sleep in Peru😅. I had an excellent stay and can just really recommend this house!
