What can we say about Mahi Mahi? We will never forget the four beautiful days and nights we spent there. Perfect, peaceful location, away from the crowds. Near the village, where you can go around exploring on foot (do it & support the local community!!) Stunning view of the ocean, delicious food, abundant breakfast and very good choices for lunch or dinner - prices of the restaurant more expensive than what you find in local restaurants nearby but still quite affordable. All of the dishes delicious - congratulations to the chef, who btw took the time to come and meet us :) I tried the "chef's special" everyday during breakfast :). Clean, spacious rooms, you wake up and sleep hearing the sound of the sea. Now THAT is a memory to hold on to during winter. Amazing service - thank you Sifa, Skola (special thanks for the on-the-go Swahili lessons to my wife) Justin, Ilias, and I'm SO sorry I forget the names of all the other nice people that made our stay so wonderful, we thank you all! Our stay at the Zen Boutique Hotel in Zanzibar was absolutely fantastic! The hotel complex features beautiful bungalows that are both stylish and comfortable, providing a true oasis of tranquility. The facility is so clean and the staffs are so helpful and friendly, Regina made sure we get everything we wanted and always wear a smile. Hanna was always making sure we’re fed to satisfaction, she’d text every morning to remind us about breakfast and also at dinner. Villa Juliana is a little gem and was perfect for us after a 10 day safari in Tanzania. The location is amazing, right on a beautiful beach, the room was spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We could not have asked for more. They went out of their way to make our stay a happy one and always had a big smile. Another lovely aspect was that the manager let us have the room until late at no additional cost, as we had a night flight. This was hugely appreciated and made our 42 hour travel back to NZ so much easier. Our only upset with Villa Juliana was that we had to leave! We would have liked to stay longer :-)

We loved this place. Beautiful gardens, two pools so naturally one attracts the adults that want to relax and one families with kids. Hosts and all the staff super friendly. Spacious apartments with kitchen, lovely breakfast, short walk to the beach. You get some free water at the start and then just 5€ for big bottle so you never have to worry about water and plastic waste which was otherwise bit of an issue for rest of our Zanzibar trip. We had great time and would definitely come back.

We had an amazing stay at New Teddy's on the Beach! The place is gorgeous, lovingly taken care of by a bunch of super friendly staff. The attention to detail, the readiness to always respond to whatever situation might come up, the smiles they always have for their guests - all that sums up to feeling welcomed and genuinely cared for. We always felt safe and never saw the need to watch over our things on the sunbeds. The breakfast is nice, but can get a bit boring after a week, as the options are a bit limited, but the delicious fruit juice every day is amazing. The food at the restaurant is good, specials of the day are an interesting addition to the menu. If you're in search of more traditional food you'll find many restaurants in the village. We also liked the happy hours, pop up bar, bbqs with live music, frozen coconuts, lovely souvenir shop, massages, henna tattoos... Oh, and also they have great excursion plans! The wifi is ok but doesn't reach the rooms and you need to login every time.
