Das Zapote Tree Inn liegt weniger als 16 Minuten vom Flughafen Flores und 4 Minuten mit dem Boot von der Insel Flores entfernt. Amazing place. Don’t be put off by the location - it’s super easy to take a boat to and from Flores Island, the boat costs just Q10 per person (US$1.50), there are loads of them, and they run all day until around 10pm at night. Zapote Inn itself is really lovely - lots of places to chill, they sell cold beer on the property for Q15, and offer great food at reasonable prices (we particularly enjoyed the typico breakfasts and the steamed fish dinner). The room was nicer than it looks in the photos, with the best beds we’ve had anywhere in Guatemala. The room had great aircon and was quiet at night. Another great part about this place is that it backs onto the rainforest. A short walk from the accom we saw howler monkeys climbing through the trees - an amazing sight! Not to mention the toucans and hummingbirds hanging about the property. The Tikal tour that Peter organised was great and good value. Peter was also able to organise a shuttle direct to Caye Caulker at a slightly cheaper price than is advertised online. We have already recommended this place to a few of our friends travelling in Guatemala and will continue to do so.

What a wonderful stay we had. In the middle of a forest ("jungle" we may say), so quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Quite luxurious speedboat transferring us from Flores and back. Good kitchen and first of all excellent staff, so helpful and with unusual friendly attitude. I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone, who wants to feel one of the best possible vibes.
