There are in good conditions and with a full tank. - Good restaurant next door, for your breakfast. We'll book here again if we visit again Samosir island.

Nested in the jungle, it felt like a dream to relax listening to the sound of the forest. Everything is beautiful at the Jungle Guide, and the staff is very kind and helpful. We even had the chance to listen to some of them playing the guitar and singing, it was lovely! I can't recommend it enough!

The owner helped us to arrange the guide and airport taxi before arrival! When we arrived, my friend was not feeling well so the owner managed to change the duration of the trek and suggest other activities. Also, she managed to extend the stay and we kept the same room (from 1 night to 4 nights). We were pleased with nice food and hospitality like delivering food or tea to our room! Our room was upgraded to the family room which was more accessible from the river. I highly recommend this place!

I cannot recommend this stay enough. Dila, the host, was exceptional and so kind hearted that it taught me so much during my short 3 days there. It is a nice quiet location, and you can tell that Dila has put her all into making sure the guests have an amazing time. She is always there to answer questions and do everything she can to make you comfortable. She cooks a delicious breakfast with her sister, and likes to take her guests around Padang and show them beautiful things like the clear blue river deep in the village. Stuff you would never find on your own. She even noticed I liked crystals and rocks and showed me a crystal shop I would not have been aware of. I will always cherish my stay here.

I very much enjoyed my stay here. I spent 2 nights before my jungle trek and 1 night after. I booked the 2 day/1 night jungle trek with them as well. I actually think that is the only way you can stay at their guesthouse, so they ensure that their trekking clients have accommodation. Communication with the manager, Dedycool was faultless, from the time i made my initial inquiry to when the driver picked me up at the airport. The room was spotless, the bed and pillows were some of the most comfortable I've had in 5 months of travel, and the AC did the job. The staff could not have been more welcoming, both upon arrival and every time I came for a meal or returned from an outing. The location outside of the village ensured a peaceful nights sleep. I enjoyed the 30 minute walk to the center, allowing me to see people going about their daily lives. The jungle trek was phenomenal in every way. Both guides, Edwin and Janet, were professional and got excited when we saw orangutans (we saw 7). The food both at the guesthouse and on the trek was very tasty. The trekking was challenging but not overly so. It was fun scrambling up hillsides using vines and roots as foot and hand holds. The camping was much more comfortable than I expected. The camping mats were thick, and the lightweight sleeping bag was just right for the temperature. The rafting back to the village was super fun and a great way to end the 2 days in the jungle. I'm very pleased with my decision to book through Sumatra Orangutans Treks.

Ich bin alleine nach Bukit lawang gereist und bin vorab mit Alek in Kontakt getreten, dass ich einen Transport von Medan brauche, dies wurde sowohl für die Hinfahrt, als auch Rückfahrt problemlos organisiert! Ich habe mich von der ersten Sekunde an sehr sicher bei Ihnen gefühlt. Das Zimmer war für den Preis absolut in Ordnung und man hat eine hammer Aussicht!! Weiters muss ich sagen, dass dies mit Abstand die beste Erfahrung meines Lebens war; die Dschungel Tour kann man bei sehr vielen unterschiedlichen Anbietern buchen, aber die Erfahrung die man hier macht ist einzigartig. Nabil und dandi haben uns eine echt schöne Zeit beschert , von Anfang bis Ende, war alles gut durchgeplant, und wir wurden mit dem besten Essen und vielen sehr leckeren Snacks gut versorgt. Sie haben immer versucht uns alles über die Tiere, Pflanzen oder indonesische Wörter beizubringen und man konnte sie immer alles fragen und hat immer eine lustige Antwort darauf bekommen! Weiters waren sie immer sehr aufmerksam und ich habe mich mit ihnen sehr sicher im Dschungel gefühlt. Noch vor dem Trekking haben sie geschaut, dass man alles dabei hat und wenn nicht wurde immer nach einer Lösung gesucht, wie zb die super coolen Gummi Schuhe, die nicht nur stylisch aussehen , sondern auch super für die Wanderung sind, konnte man sich ausborgen/kaufen, wenn man kein gutes Schuhwerk dabei hatte. Es war nicht nur eine Dschungel Tour, bei der man viel über die Natur und Tiere lernt, sondern auch sehr viel Spaß zusammen hat und die Zeit in vollen Zügen genießt!! Danke Nabil & Dandi für alles, ich werde wieder kommen und ich freue mich jetzt schon mit euch den Bukit Lawang Song im Dschungel Oder beim Rafting wieder zu singen!!! Liebe Grüße, Michelle

I truly loved everything about Mario Lakeside. The location is peaceful and beautiful, right by the lake — perfect for relaxing. The room was clean, cozy, and well-maintained. What made this place special is the heart behind it. The owner, Pak Ali, is a kind and inspiring person. He also runs a foundation for children with cleft lips in Sumatra — which made my stay feel even more meaningful. Upstairs, there’s a vegetarian café with delicious food. They grow some of their ingredients on-site (farm-to-table concept), and I was blown away by the haloumi sandwich – they even import the cheese from the UK! It’s not just a place to stay, it’s a place that stays with you. I’d definitely come back if I visit Toba again.
