The good part was that the our room is a separate building, good quality in food, and onsen. The place is clean and nice, with full of Japanese onsen vibe. What I really like was the pace of food they prepare and serve. Never rush, or late, just good in a timely manner. And of course friendly staff.

This has been my best experience ever in Japan. Such a lovely hotel with a luxury feel. The inside and outside baths were amazing and really comfy bed. Also walkable to visit the hells which was great

Wonderful modern Ryokan, excellent food, and lovely staff! The private onsen is amazing, and the garden is so beautiful. Definitely a recommendation if you are looking for a relaxing, comforting, and memorable experience Japan!

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They provided breakfast and additional meals during the day, even some bbq at the end of my stay. They also gave me a ride to Mt Yufu, a popular hiking destination.

When we booked this accommodation based on the description and the photos, we were looking forward to staying somewhere that had so much character, especially after staying at a few nondescript hotels in our travels. We were delighted to discover that the room looked even better in real life. We very much appreciated the thought and effort that has gone into creating a room that is not only very appealing to the eye, but also provides all of the requirements needed when traveling. Hajimari Beppu was our favourite accommodation on this trip. It is highly recommended, with many lovely details for you to discover. We would definitely stay here again.
