The property is located on beautiful temple grounds, which you can visit. The rooms have been completely renovated and feel modern and peaceful while still retaining its Japanese charm. Our room even had a stunning bathtub, and the beds were incredibly cozy/ comfy. I slept like a baby. We were welcomed with tea, coffee, and a sweet, which was such a thoughtful touch and very yummy. Even though the bathroom was shared, it was spotless and very well maintained. Amenities were also great. The manager was very helpful and even called ahead to help arrange dinner for us, which was great as we cant speak Japanese. She also spoke perfectly in English! I recommend the yakitori restaurant - it was fantastic. The owners so sweet:) Overall, a unique and relaxing stay ..highly recommend. We would return when in the area again! Thank you so much

Very friendly and helpful staff! It was amazing to stay in a traditional Japanese thatched house (over 300 years old). The accommodation was warm and had a very cosy lounge area (with guitars and other instruments to play) and lots of cooking space. The location was also quite spectacular with views of the city at night and located next to a lake, park, and sports facilities. There is also a bus stop directly outside of the property. Definitely a must if you're planning to stay in Nanto.

The Japanese house, with its spacious 120 m², is very welcoming, comfortable, and beautifully designed with a natural and sustainable style. Bright, full of light, and featuring restored wood details, it also has a vintage HiFi stereo system that sounds absolutely wonderful. The bathroom was spacious with two individual showers, and the bedroom was perfectly quiet, equipped with a brand-new air conditioner. The host was very kind and friendly—she recommended all the wonderful places I visited nearby. Thanks to her advice, I enjoyed a fantastic restaurant just 12 minutes away on foot, where a talented chef served exquisite dishes in a minimalist setting with a table overlooking a zen garden, all at a very reasonable price. On my way back, I followed her recommendation to stop at a cocktail bar 8 minutes from the house, walking along the illuminated riverside. The place was like stepping into a movie set—the interior design was a true work of art, with more than 80 bourbons and an extensive selection of cocktails. The next morning, following her guidance again, I had breakfast in a café walking only 6 minutes, a former fisherman’s warehouse beautifully renovated. They served excellent coffee, cakes, and sandwiches—the perfect spot to start the day or work with a laptop. In summary, my stay at Yanafu was wonderful. The 120 m² house is warm and cozy, and with the host’s thoughtful recommendations, I could enjoy unique and unforgettable places within walking distance. Ideal for families, groups, and also for romantic couples, thanks to the beautiful surroundings. I will definitely return often.

The owner waited to receive my family arrival. Excellent hospitality. Communication with the Japanese owner not a problem as he could speak good English. Within the unit, cleanliness in tip-top condition. The living room with a very comfortable sofa, huge dinning table sufficient for 6 pax use, nicely sized shower room, etc. Everything within the unit looks newly furnished and in excellent condition. Beddings are very comfortable, perfect for good rest. Air conditioning keeping the unit in comfortable temperature. Supermarket and F&B establishments are just a few minutes drive away. Surrounding environment is peaceful and terrific. This place has been the best my family ever stayed among the many overseas trips our family had. Owner even popped by to say Good Bye despite our family leaving the unit in early hours in the morning. Highly recommended.
