That place was amazing! From the friendly and helpful staff to the frothy towels, everything was so nice! The beds very comfortable and private with the curtains, super clean and all the amenities you would need. Fully equipped kitchen with appliances, everything in a very good condition. I loved everything about this place! João was also very helpful with everything I asked. Located very close to the marina. Strongly recommended!

I was there for two days. Stefan is a super host, you can always count on his help and good word. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and the freshly prepared breakfasts are delicious. An ideal option for travellers wanting to climb Pico, at a very reasonable price.

This is the best accommodation that we have ever had! We were in the big appartment T2 and felt really like home, as it has all facilities you need. The kitchen is well equipped (we cooked a lot, as you get local fresh fish in Madalena for very good price). There are also barbecue facilities which we didn't use because it was rainy. You have an ocean view from every room and we really enjoyed those views, also watching the waves on a rainy day. We used the whirlpool too, which is shared by all the apartments. On most days, we were the only guests. The whirlpool has a sea view too, however, you cannot see much from there, as the cover is fogged up because of the steam. Stilm, the cover is good as it protects you from rain and wind. There are some cats outside coming and asking for food :) One day, we had a visit of lizards between the stones of one of the walls. Apparently, they were hiding from the rain (it was pouring outside). A washing machine and a dryer are available in the laundry room. All in all: you have everything you need there. And also, the apartment is just nice: very good design additionally to the views that you have.

Great place to stay in Pico, in one of the most beautiful parts of the island. The house itself was very good: large, comfy bed; well-equipped kitchen and a nice terrace with fantastic views over the mountain.

In twenty plus years with booking.com this was the best apartment we have stayed in. All of the minor annoyances we usually encounter were not there. The ensuite had a fair sized cubicle with a good shower and a basket for toiletries, there was a lot of storage space, flat surfaces near the hand basin for your toiletries, hooks on the wall and even a proper plug which worked. The sofa provided comfortable seating for both of us as did the table and four chairs. There was a wardrobe with sufficient shelves and hanging space for two people with proper wooden coat hangers not the usual pin and socket type loved by hotels. The kitchenette is extremely well equipped with oven, induction hob, full size fridge and microwave so as to enable full self catering. There are even four bins - three dedicated to recycling. The apartment is well soundproofed both internally and externally (with the windows closed obviously). Wifi reception is excellent. This is also access to a laundry containing both washing machine and a dryer as well as the usual drying racks. Finally due to self check in we did not meet the owner but he was in constant communication with us and quickly responded to any message.

Calma do Mar features a garden, tennis court, barbecue facilities and shared lounge in Madalena. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the bed and breakfast free of charge.

I whis we could give Gonzalo and his team an higher score than 10!!!! The location was amazing as the rooms. But the kindness of Gonzalo, and his team, overcome any expectations! He is the exact definition of a person that does his job with love. It was great to meet him!!!

The host was incredible, she made sure that we had a nice stay and told us where we could go. In the apartment itself there are plenty of guide books and maps. We also were welcomed by homemade jam, and fruits from the garden, which was incredibly nice.
