Roney and Divya were superb hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Roney brought me speciality indian teas regularly and advised me on the best sights to see (of which the Edakkal caves ...6000 b C cave carvings only 8,ks away) was an absolute must. The upstairs guest level is the highest level of luxury decor I've come across in India. Marble floors, beautiful bathroom/toilet, aircon, and a lovely large balcony with hanging cane chair to enjoy the jungle view. I couldn't rate this homestay too highly

After booking my slot at the Captain's Cove property, I arrived with my family around 3 pm. The host was waiting for us and guided us to what facilities were available. The host was a very humble and nice person. We stayed 4 nights. I can explain what facilities are available in Captain's Cove: 1. 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. 2. Every bedroom has AC, and every bathroom has Greeser 3. Our garden is very nice and spacious; children can play at garden 4. Power backup is available (Inverter) 5. Refreigarator is available 6. The Internet is available with Wi-Fi 7. Each and every room lighting facility is very good 8. Car parking has enough space (at a time 10 cars can park in the garden) 9. The water supply is good, and in 5 mins we will get water once we switch on motor 10. A kitchen is available. Guests can prepare home-made items here 11. In the kitchen, gas, vessels, and kitchenware, there is no need to bring any vessels. All are set in the kitchen. We can only bring the necessary groceries. 12. The terrace is highlighted with nice lighting, you can stay and enjoy nature 13. Morning nature view is awesome 14. The total garden is a very nice view. IMPORTANT NOTE: The host is very humble and is very responsible to the guests. If we face any issue once we call the host, he can respond immediately. There is no doubt in this scenario. And also host can also help to share the visiting places if we don't know much visiting places. We have visited Wayanad natureal places. All the tourist places are awesome. There are many most beautiful places are in the Wayanad. We must visit the wayland in the life at least once. Thank you, Sir. For a reasonable budget, the Captain Cove property facilities are fabulous. We are very happy to choose your Captain Cove property. And we really appreciate your response whenever we are calling you. Hands down, the most incredible stay I've ever had. 🥹 This is exactly why I'll write a bit more detailed on here. It is *such* a unique place, surrounded by and set in nature, virtually everything here was handcrafted with lots of knowledge, an eye for detail and experience. And lots of bamboo, of course! There are three or four cabins spread across the areal, all close to an open dining area, where the kitchen and plenty of places to eat and rest are located as well as a little lake. There are opportunities to request the resort as an area for yoga workshops, exhibitions, cooking events or other activities. My bungalow featured an amazing outdoor bathroom (with a hot water shower), comfy living/sleeping space, a terrace with view into the mountainous forest and even a small balcony. Insects are kept outside through incense sticks, which worked great (i got no bites). authentic Keralan breakfast and affordable dinner was served with lots of love by two kind men working at the resort. The manager is very nice, available and helpful himself. Everything is kept constantly clean and hygienic, and the kitchen features an excellent water filtering system with a seperate tank. I was staying here in early October to do artistic research in a 2-day bamboo workshop over at the Uravu centre/nursery, which is connected to this place and in walkable distance (15-20min). Its a Must to at least give them a visit. It is a great season to explore the whole Wayanad area, which is set between 1000m and 2000m in the west ghats, hence it has a very enjoyable climate and air. Plenty of rice, coconuts, bananas, coffee, tea,.. are grown close by, and bird watching sites as well as a wildlife sanctuary are near. Don't forget you are in the mid of the rural tropics - be prepared, informed and talk to locals when going into the bushes! Autorikshaws are found nearby and can be ordered to pick you up.
